Saniderm/Tegaderm/SecondSkin is such a godsend to tattoo healing. She managed to wrap my whole upper arm in it and I kept it on for about 48hrs til last night. And now that it's peeled off, I'm ok wearing loose & soft sweaters over the area. It's a little sensitive as the day wears on, but really not an issue at all. I remember my other arm & leg tattoo healing with an absorbent bandage + lotion combo and I felt like I couldn't even wear loose clothes over them for what seemed like 2 weeks. I have one on my wrist right now, and I don't remember having one for any of my other tattoos. Totally blown away at how little it bothered me yesterday immediately after getting it. I was afraid my toddler would be poking at it, but it's totally protected. Since it's on my wrist it's already peeling a little bit, so I'm not sure it will survive longer than 24hrs. It's fairly new to how folks are healing things. Some artists still don't use it - sometimes depending on what they're doing. It's great for small tattoos - anything large and/or full color it probably won't work great for. I feel like it was just coming around when I got my arm done in fall 2019. It's so nice to have that layer of protection from touch during the first 24-48 hrs though. IMO it helps it be less irritated through the whole healing process.

Just finished up what is probably the last linework-only session (unless we do a really short session next month and just end up talking about color and not actually tattooing any).
Inner upper arm was most of it and I am bruised like a peach.
Some elbow ditch that's also bruised... outer elbow, some missed earlier details on my lower arm not bruised.

I'm too tired of fighting the internet on how to get a photo URL that doesn't also embed and enormous image (or a crappy looking one when I try to downsize). So i'll just link the imgur post here. Linework done! We start color tomorrow.

I finally sat around today and put this together. We've got one session (3hrs) of color down now too!
