I searched, but didn't see anything over here. I know we had a thread for them back on BAF. I've been using a book box with faux-velvet ring-holder material in it, but now that I'm starting to have septum jewelry to store and have filled up the goblet I was using to hang hangies on... I think I need to consider something bigger and with drawers. I'm willing to consider something free-standing. Any advice would be appreciated, but I'm also just looking for pretty pictures of what worked for you even if it might not work for me.

I had the storage conundrum when I moved and didn't have room for a full cabinet anymore. What I ended up doing was buying a vintage storage box for hanging stuff and refinishing it- I planned the stands out and attached the wood and pipe- Then added some upholstered padding from scrap fabric- Previously I had the hanging stuff stacked precariously in/on a drawer of my plug storage box, but I wanted a more impressive (and safer) way to store them than lying down. The two box system has been working for me.

Fuck, I love both of them. O_________O
You did an absolutely wonderful job restoring that first one, it's amazing. I love the design and you just made it even more glorious than it likely was when it was new. I love the plug drawers, too. I would be so happy to find something like that.

Thank you I'm very pleased with the vintage charm of them, and their function. I got the white one from Craigslist for $20 and the type box at an antique barn for $40 iirc, so I'd suggest checking places like that for deals if you're willing to keep an open mind and put in some work!

Hahahaa I saw the photos before I saw the poster and I was like YES I KNOW WHO THIS IS! <3 The type box is absolutely stunning, very well done!
*Oh I confused the two >_< I love them both but the one you refurbed is extra lovely.

I missed this thread so much! I make a new jewellery box every few months it seems, since I don't have much jewellery yet other than a few posts and ends, I forever plan out my future collection and how I will store it.
For now I'm just using a rainbow pill box until I actually have some jewellery worthy of storing, but I also made the shell of a cutout book a while back that I'd like to use again one day.
Those boxes look so good!

oh i love these threads. here's my custom jewelry box (wenge & maple). Lish can I ask what your drawers are lined with and how you like it? I've been considering relining mine but I haven't settled on a material yet...

I've been considering relining mine but I haven't settled on a material yet... it's just felt (non-adhesive) that i trimmed to size. it's fine - i clean my plugs before i put them away each night, so the felt doesn't get gross or anything.

Old pictures, but this is my box: It's a 3 drawer wood storage box originally designed for pastel storage. I added balsa wood dividers to each drawer in addition to the dividers it came with. Here's what the drawers look like (it's much more full now, I need to update my collection photos soon!): I'm actually thinking about getting a second box to store my hair sticks/hair toys in to stack under this one.

I love that box! I've been looking at pastel storage boxes on amazon now, and I never knew there was such a thing. Is the box sturdy? Are the drawers secure and stuff? It looks pretty perfect to house a collection tbh, I'm definitely aiming to get everything I have fitted into one box in the future.

It looks pretty perfect to house a collection tbh, I'm definitely aiming to get everything I have fitted into one box in the future. It's super sturdy! I highly recommend it. My only complaint is the built in dividers (you can kinda see the thicker vertical wood bits) aren't 100% straight. It doesn't bother me enough to want to redo it, though. As far as the drawers, they don't have a "stop" on them, but they aren't likely to pull out so quickly that you'll fling plugs everywhere.
