In my own experience stretching with tapers was easier in early sizes. With tapers or not, just make sure your ears are ready before you stretch to the next size. Oh, I know how to stretch properly. My lobes are 16mm's. Not reached my goal size yet, and I've been stretching since 2008ish. No, I'm looking for the Stretching Guide and the issues that happen with using tarts incorrectly in stretching, to link to for someone else that is saying deadstretching is more dangerous and cause way more blowouts. And I'm sick of trying to explain to them, and they want a factual website link (and with BAF Forum gone, I can't just link peeps to there like usual).

Took the kid to get her ear lobes pierced this weekend. It was quite an experience (she fainted afterwards). The artist handled the situation great though. I've noticed one piercing is fairly crooked sadly and it's been bleeding quite a bit more than the other. I will be keeping a close eye on it while she is still with me for the summer vacation. Hopefully it being askew doesnt cause issues in the future. We traveled almost 3 hours so going back isn't much of an option at this point.

OK I know it's been months since your post but I just came back here and thought I'd respond. www.lynnloheide.com/post/tapers-the-truth-behind-this-toolLynn is a respected professional piercer. At the bottom of that post you can find her stretching guide linked as well.

Took the barbell out of my tongue over the weekend. Around the top ball had been sore for some time and I couldn't figure out what may have caused it. I've been thinking about retiring that one for a bit anyway so it was just time apparently. Now that the jewelry is gone I've noticed just how much I played with it. Oops haha.

I've barely worn plugs for the past 1-2 years between barely leaving the house, being preoccupied with having a baby, and being sick a lot last year. I've restretched my ears probably 3 times, usually getting to around 11mm before I take my plugs out and forget to put them back in for weeks. I made it back up to 13mm a few months ago, then got hand foot mouth in the same week and had blisters all over my ears and earlobes and it was too painful to keep plugs in, so I ditched them. I am yet again stretching back up, at 12mm now. I was at 1/2" for years and years and have quite a large collection of jewelry in that size, but I also get decision fatigue and picking out jewelry feels like a huge task some days, so I often wear the same pair of stone plugs for weeks or months at a time. I've been considering maybe stretching larger and seeing if I like my ears at a bigger size and getting a just a few pairs in that size.

I've been downsizing and stretching out of laziness for a couple years now. I'm not even sure what size I'm at because I'm using an old set of plugs so I haven't measured, I just put in the next size up. I liked being at 16mm and I have a decent sized collection. I probably could've stretched back up 3 or 4 times but keep leaving my plugs out.

Also late responding, because weird life, but thanks very much; I've been on Reddit a lot, and there's a Stretching sub there. The whole "Stretching with tapers" will just not die, and there's been a lot of blowouts lately from using them (and silicone). I did come across them the other day funnily enough, via a video link, as I was trying to find why Polymer Clay should not be worn through naked lobes. Anywhoo, thanks again, much appreciated! Update: Lobes are still at 16mm, Daith is nicely healed, though trying to get used to wearing my hearing aids again is really weird; and it is a lot plus piercings plus mask. But I have GWS 17mm SF pink slime glass plugs being made. And I finally acknowledged my navel self-stretched to 2mm, probs like years ago now, and I have correctly sized jewellery in there now; with nicer jewellery on the way. I'm happily rocking a 6mm triple stacked septum, for a while now, and I love it! And my son wants to get his lobes pierced at 6mm's - he's 25 now - so researching piercers.

Another piercing gone After gaining some weight my poorly placed navel piercing was looking even more wonky. Decided last night to take out the jewelry before it started to migrate out. Maybe if I can get my butt to the gym more I'll treat myself to get it redone but for now, I'm gonna have to work on breaking up the scar tissue.

Finallyyyyy got my right rook pierced after years of only having my left, so stoked! I've forgotten how to embed stuff so linkkk: i.ibb.co/nkstp8v/PXL-20231014-125549505-4.jpgApparently, my other one should never have been done because while my rooks are pierceable, they're pretty thick/at an unusual angle. They were still happy to do it because "clearly you're a good healer ✨" with my conch punches, but they warned me it might take a while to be 100%. That's okay tho, i must be symmetrical
