Day 10:Last day of wrapping! It will be such a relief not to have to put a fresh dressing on it tomorrow morning. My poor skin! The medical tape has not been kind to it. I've been using the paper tape that says it's supposed to be extra gentle on skin. But I guess even extra-gentle tape only goes so far when you're constantly re-taping the same spots. The cutting itself seems to be fully epithelialized at this point. It even looks like there might be a tiny bit of raising starting in one of the upper points of the leaf. Very exciting!

chest cuttings tend to scar more heavily than other areas. i wouldn't be surprised if it's raising already.
it looks great - it's easy to see in the pics that you didn't let it dry out. good caretaking. :)

Ryan did warn me that chest cuttings tend to scar particularly heavily, but I guess I didn't really connect that with potentially seeing raising sooner. it looks great - it's easy to see in the pics that you didn't let it dry out. good caretaking. Awesome! Good to know it looks like it's coming along well so far. I mean, I think it looks good, but I also don't have much frame of reference for how it should look.

Ryan did warn me that chest cuttings tend to scar particularly heavily, but I guess I didn't really connect that with potentially seeing raising sooner. unless you're prone to keloids, there's only a certain amount of time during the healing process when your skin will raise. so to get more rising done in time, it might begin sooner. :) Awesome! Good to know it looks like it's coming along well so far. I mean, I think it looks good, but I also don't have much frame of reference for how it should look. dear, you ARE the frame of reference for how it "should" look. it's your body. ;) but as far as the normative process for a cutting goes: yes, it's exactly on track.

What I meant was that I don't have enough experience with this to necessarily recognize if something was going awry during healing, so I appreciate the reassurance in that department. But yes, as far as what the final result ends up looking like and being happy with it, that's obviously down to my own personal aesthetic.

Day 11:It feels a bit itchy and dry today and looks a little flaky, but other than that seems fine. I think the little bit of raising I thought I saw yesterday must've been a combination of optical illusion and wishful thinking because it all looks pretty flat today. It felt so good to be able to leave it uncovered for the day though! I'll probably stop with the daily updates soon. I wanted to at least go 'til the end of the initial healing/wrapping phase but I figure once I reach the two week mark I'll switch to weekly photos/updates unless something particularly noteworthy happens.

Day 12:I waited 'til way too late in the day to take this photo, so the lighting isn't what I'd hoped, but it's the best I could do for the moment. It's still a bit itchy and a bit sore. I don't notice it too much until something touches it or I'm rolling over in my sleep. Going from side, with the area relatively compressed, to back, with the skin stretched is painful, but it calms down after a minute or two.

yep, get ready for Pain Stretching. i had about four months of that on my ribs, but you'll do better with this placement unless you're particularly top-heavy. also, good to see your leaf has entered the Time of Looking Kinda Crap, which shall end soon. :)

(Emphasis mine) I am, unfortunately, extremely top heavy. (Anywhere from an H to a J-cup depending on where I'm getting my bras.) The reason I haven't just been sleeping on my back is because my breasts actually manage to cut off circulation to my arms if I stay on my back for more than an hour or two at a time. It's one of the things I spoke to Ryan about before finalizing the placement since I was worried that the constant side-sleeping and compression/distortion might be problematic for healing. He seemed to think it'd be alright though. I guess this just means that it'll smart a bit for the next little while. Also, good to know that the Time of Looking Kinda Crap is short-lived. Thanks.

(Anywhere from an H to a J-cup depending on where I'm getting my bras.) from a 30F: my sympathies. i've been trying to figure out a cutting for my chest as well, so now i'm even more interested in seeing how you go. Also, good to know that the Time of Looking Kinda Crap is short-lived. Thanks. :) yep, haha. there are a few phases in it, one of which ends as soon as it's healed enough to really loofah. ;)

Day 13:Not much going on today. Still looks Kinda Crap, especially the top part. I'll try to post one more photo tomorrow before moving to weekly updates.

Day 14:It was so itchy today. I think it actually is starting to raise a tiny bit now, although still not much. It still looks pretty dry and flaky. I do think it's looking a bit better than it did a couple days ago though. Looking forward to that trend continuing.

Awesome. I'm so glad! It's been fun doing the updates. It's nice to know people are enjoying following along. I'll try to post another one on Sunday and go more-or-less weekly from there.
