This kind of thing is fascinating to me. The corset was something that was required of women at one point and caused them lots of health problems, like not being able to exercise and fainting etc. The fact that young women are embracing corsets again in this modern liberated era is really interesting. I have a philosophy and sociology background so trends like this always make me wonder if there is a reason this trend got kicked off. It's a little like Muslim young women who were raised in moderate homes and never encouraged to veil suddenly embracing the hijab, even if they're not hugely politically active. No judgement - just the social scientist in me pondering

No judgement - just the social scientist in me pondering For me it's more like "I want a super tiny waist but I also don't want to relapse into my eating disorder, so let's try this!" I'm still kind of nervous wearing it out to school or work, but I did go a 9 hour work day in it and an almost 8 hour school day in it. I didn't lace up as tight as I could for school, since I get that tube of back fat if I do, but I was reasonably comfortable and still looked cinched, so that's good.

As I said no judgement. As someone with a feminist background I also find it intriguing in myself I quite like corsets and hijabs on other women even though I wouldn't follow those trends myself.

So long time no talk. I very quickly fell out of love with the grey corset; some of the mesh tore pretty early on and I would get ridiculous back fat muffining out of it. I took advantage of Mystic City Corsets black Friday sale, and grabbed this 18 inch mesh beauty. It's got a higher back that prevents the muffin. It is, however, more difficult for me to lace, but I'm sure it's just a learning curve.

I got my first proper corset today! Super happy with it, planning to wear it under my dress on my wedding so gonna be wearing it a lot to get used to it beforehand Its a waspie corset so shorter than normal - partially cause my dress has a low back and partially cause im short and its what fit my torso best 🤷 my back hangs out a bit at the top tho, any ideas on how to reduce that? (Excuse the underwear and the very outdated bathroom, and I'm gonna put them in a spoiler since pictures i post tend to be huge and i still cant figure out why)

Sowwy if this had been discussed before. I'm a newbie and didn't see any threads. I'm apple-shaped and I hate it! I am always in between sizes because I am disproportionate. I always have to get my dresses taken in and it's annoying to buy an expensive dress and then pay even more money to take it to a skilled tailor who won't ruin it Hidethatfat Lower belly Waist Trainer. I am far from fat. I just have a wide waist. I know I need to lose weight to get rid of belly fat but I don't want to lose what little curves I have. And I can't control where I lose. I've heard belly fat is usually the last and most stubborn to lose too. I guess I'll try to focus on toning. I know I'll never be an hourglass, but if I could lose just 3 inches I would be happier with my shape. Has a waist trainer worked for anyone and are they safe to wear?
