Hey friends, I've decided I'm going to start the process of waist training, and hopefully being able to follow along might be helpful to someone. My corset came in the mail today, and I'm going to start seasoning it tomorrow. I'll be taking photos and measurements and such along the way.
Get excited!

Ooh, that's something I've been considering doing for a long time. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress!

Ok, so let's get started! The CorsetI received a grey mesh 20 inch underbust corset from Orchard Corsets. They recommend you buy 4-7 inches smaller than your natural waist, and my waist varies between 23 and 25 inches in any given day, so I just went with 20 to start. The ProcessI'm starting off by "seasoning" the corset. Basically today is day one and I'll wear it for an hour, days 2-3 are also an hour, days 4-6 are two hours, days 7-9 are three hours, days 10-12 are four hours, days 13-14 are six hours. I'm following the guide provided by Orchard Corsets (apparently mesh corsets season faster than others, but I'm still gonna do the whole thing). The idea is to get the corset used to your body shape and to get your body used to the corset. The GoalsMy ultimate goal is to be able to wear an 18 inch corset totally closed. I love how tiny waists look, and that's the main purpose of this endeavor. I am also hopeful that maybe being laced in could help with my posture; an overbust corset would probably be better for that purpose, but that's not the primary goal. The Concerns
I am a little concerned about how my side scarification and my navel piercings/stomach anchors as I get int this process. The Starting Point

Gorgeous! I used to be a corset fan, although mine are buried in a box somewhere and probably would be all wonky on my post-motherly bod...
It will be much fun to follow your progress!
ETA: Curious to know how your scars react to the lack of airflow and restrictive compression.

ETA: Curious to know how your scars react to the lack of airflow and restrictive compression. Re: scars, I'm really interested to see what will happen. I know compression is used to break down scar tissue, so if my scars start to diminish at all I may need to layer under the corset or something. Day Two!
(Looking at it now I need to tighten up the top a little bit. Also, taking pictures of myself from behind made me realize how wicked uneven the back of my hair is. Snip snip!)

Thank you thank you for this thread! I have been wanting to corset/train for a long time but I have no idea where to start and also I worry about the permanence. Even at 5'6" 95 lbs. I had a tummy and I'd like a more hourglass shape. I'm 39/32/40 so I don't think I'd need too much work to be really shapely.
As always you look amazing but even more of a bombshell with a nipped waist. Teach me your ways!

Don't tie your laces in the front!! That is bad for your corset, i know that it is a lot easier that way but you can ruin your corset with it easily.
I need to start wearing my corsets again as well.. Really enjoy it but the lacing up can take some time. First I have to lose some weight again as I do not want to buy a new corset because I think my proportions have changed a bit.

I thought I had read that somewhere but didn't see it again in my research. Thanks for the heads up! The past two days I've done my seasoning time. Photos look pretty much the same, so I don't want to bore you guys with them. I do feel that my posture is improved in the corset, though!

Lil bit of an update! New photos, but also some negatives: 1) I haven't been wearing it daily; I'm not at the point I can wear it to work yet, but it's hard to get time in when I'm not working. It's also not necessarily easy for me to like bend and stuff, so if I have stuff to do at home I haven't been wearing it. 2) The modesty panel is annoying as balls. It's always wrinkled and bunched up. 3) The tie in the laces (to make it a complete loop) keeps poking me in the back. I might need to buy a new string or move everything around to avoid that. 4) I probably should have bought a different corset. I have a long torso, and for whatever reason I forgot that while I was picking. My next purchase will definitely be long line. 5) Back fat!

Thanks for the thread! I plan on corset training soon as i lose a bit of weight :3 Can you not just cut out the modesty panel? I've got a couple (non waist training) corsets with them and they're so annoying, i've always left them for fear that they're important though also, have you heard of fan lacing? It doesn't look like the easiest thing to set up, and you need to get a lil belt thing to go round your waist, but once its all set up it's meant to make it way easier to lace up a corset yourself? I dunno, might be worth looking up though ^_^

Yea I usually remove the modesty panel from my corsets, I don't like them those things are stupid. These are two of my corsets (both Mystic City Corsets) btw: And this is my SnowBlack Corset, which was a sample that I had bought luckily.

You've inspired me to get back into corset-wearing and now tightlacing I've even just gotten approved to join the Tightlacing Society on FB (that you so kindly linked us to via another thread). My main experience with corset wearing stems from my days in the SCA when I made and wore Elizabethan corsets, which are an entirely different fit from modern corsets. I love learning new stuff!

Do you find the mesh comfortable? Comfortable enough. It doesn't get hot which is nice, but if I wear it against bare skin I get kind of scaly looking. Thanks for the thread! I don't know if it's something I'd attempt but still.

Ah that sucks :/ I mean, at least it shows it's quality! And yeah, I doubt I'd be able to do it myself, I'd get impatient, but I thought I'd mention it anyways ^_^
