You're so close to the finish line! One way or the other you'll won't have to be pregnant during the hottest part of the summer. Be kind to yourself and embrace your time in this liminal space. Preferably with ice cream. Do you have people around to help you after the birth?
Thank you!! My mom is flying in the day before my scheduled C-section to stay for three weeks, and my husband will have a little time off work, but he'll also be working from home when he goes back so he'll still be semi-available throughout the day. I'm hoping my mom is more helpful than just wanting to snuggle the baby, but we'll see.
tw: more pregnancy talk
I had my 36 week growth scan today and babe looks nice and healthy, measuring at 6lbs 12oz. My doctor talked to me about ECV today to potentially turn the baby manually if I wanted to try for a vaginal birth. She said I'm not an ideal candidate because of fibroids and other factors, and there's still a chance he could go back to breech before delivery if they do that. I'd rather just do a C-section than stress both of us out with the ECV since it's not a guarantee anyway and it's one less epidural. Oh, and because I got my Covid vaccine I don't have to get a test before delivery, so that's neat!

JFC I'm fortunate to have tubal ligation privilege 😬 I'm getting ready to try and figure out my plans to have one done. A few years back I met with a doctor who said he'd be happy to perform the procedure but because I had just had an IUD put in less than a year earlier we agreed I'd wait a bit, he'd do the tubal and change my IUD at the same time because it was so painful getting it (but it helps with my periods). Now I'm worried if I wait too long I won't be able get one done and I don't want to wait until I need a new IUD. At this point I probably won't even get another IUD, I'm too worried contraceptives are going to get fucked with somehow and I don't want any hassle trying to get it removed in the future. Truly scary times right now.

With the shit going down (and living in midwest bumfuck nowhere) I am so relieved and feel damn lucky to have had a procedure done years ago. Makes me worried for my daughter and her future though.

3 things-
1- if you have to travel through Georgia for an abortion- my house is a safe place to stop. 2- in Atlanta- As of now the major hospital systems are chugging forward, and are heavily located in counties where the DAs are not prosecuting abortions. I mention the ban to each of my doctors and so far, from a medical standpoint, they're looking at how they protect their patients and give them care they need, down to how their offices can code procedures. A friend in the marketing department of one of the largest hospital networks confirmed that internally they're preparing to protect patients any and all ways possible going forward. 3-My gyno gave zero push back when I told her on my first appointment I wanted to be sterilized... I went with an ablation for reasons, so if I get pregnant I will absolutely have to terminate... But I am happy to share her info with anyone in the broader area that might be looking into sterilization and has hit roadblocks. My husbands urologist also did his vasectomy without any hesitation.
