I've seen this same issue pop up multiple times on Reddit, so you might want to check there on how to fix it. I know very little about taxes but I'm pretty sure if they claimed you as a dependent and you filed your own taxes they'll be asked to prove you were actually a dependent. Or they'll need to file an amended return. IDK, American taxes are confusing as shit. It can be corrected though, but you'll probably get the stimulus in the form of a tax credit, not a regular check, and it'll take forever, because again, AMERICAN TAXES ARE CONFUSING AS SHIT

Which is honestly, highly questionable, I don't understand what the purpose of putting down grown adults as dependents would benefit when they'd only receive tax breaks if I were under the age of 18. One of my friends said he was still doing it with her and her sister even after they were married and moved out (at the age of 26!!!) but I guess that's what I get for asking my mom to file my taxes for me instead of adulting and doing it myself, blah!

My late MIL claimed my husband on her taxes for several years after we were married in our 20s. We found out with a letter from the IRS saying he was claimed in two places. Thankfully I just paid our tax guy to deal with it.

People who expect me to pull spa appointments out of my ass on the regular can piss off -_- We're understaffed and have no appointments available for most things until the first week of August, so these idiots cursing me out because they want appointments for tomorrow/Saturday/next week/whatever and can't get them can just go away. And yelling at me for a half hour after I've explained it would be quicker to send an email for their request than calling in constantly is in no way going to make me bow to their demands. I get it, it's very difficult to get a hold of anybody via the phone up at the spa, which is why I answer the phone as well. If they want to book an appointment, I can help with that. If they want to cancel an appointment, I can help with that. I can also sell spa gift certificates, and set up hotel & spa packages so long as there is availability for the spa services on the same date as the hotel reservation. What I can't do is leave the hotel front desk to see if there is a specific product in stock at the spa, nor do I have a direct number that bypasses all other incoming spa calls to get the stock/production information they want. And lecturing me for an hour over how shitty our way of handling calls is, saying that we need a queue system like other business do (I've only known call centers to have a queue system, never a spa), and that trying to get through to the spa has always been really difficult, is not going to speed up my ability to answer calls and respond to messages and emails!
I told one caller to go to another spa after how she spoke to several of us today - when she asked for a manager once I told her that, I said it was her lucky day because I am a manager and that we don't condone being spoken to as if we are dirt and that threats are taken very seriously. I also reminded her that we have all her contact information on file so it wouldn't be very difficult to send the police by to have a chat with her.

Ended up unexpectedly hosting a family dinner last night of 9 adults. Food was prepped and cooked at my place. I just got done re-washing utensils, bowls, and measuring cups. Oh and had to reorganize a door of larger serving and mixing spoons. Anyone else have to do this after family events? Thankful they tried to clean up I honestly would prefer if they left out "clean" dishes so I could put them away correctly and ensure they were actually clean.

Thankful they tried to clean up I honestly would prefer if they left out "clean" dishes so I could put them away correctly and ensure they were actually clean. That drives me nuts! Our friend used to more or less live with us (had his own apartment, but lived alone so he'd just come and hang out a lot) - he's a great cook, but he'd always try to help out by cleaning after and all my stuff would end up in random places. Mostly lids or measuring cups or strainers in the wrong drawers. Funny enough we just went to visit him, they had a housewarming party, and I think I had emptied some of their dishwasher for them and did the same thing LOL. I could tell where all the plates and bowls were supposed to go, but got to the utensil drawer and everything was empty (because of the party they were all used) and so I tried to put them back, but opened the drawer up later and everything was in a different spot. Oops. At least I think I grouped all the forks & spoons correctly so they could just be picked up in a pile and swapped. My mom has a TON of tupperware etc that goes in mystery locations and so emptying the dishwasher growing up, we'd put all the easy stuff back and just pile random items on the kitchen island for her to put back later. Still cleared the dishwasher out for the next load but wouldn't drive her nuts finding items in random spots.
