Hi I'm new to these forums but I guess this is the best way to start,I'll keep it brief, from a young age I've been fascinated with all things sci-fi esc especially "cyber punk" styled things, I'm not new to body modification either I have stretched ears wich I started doing when I was 15 and a few other basic things such as tattoos, I feel like modifications are all things we do to our selves to Express yourself ect ect, anyway I was wondering if any has ever heard of fake cybernetic cosmetic modifications? The type you see in movies such as ghost in the shell and upcoming video games such as cyber punk 2077. For example metal on the sides of peoples heads/back of necks even around the face? I'm extremely intrested in finding out more and whether it's ever been done. Thanks for reading your feedback will be interesting to say the least!

"Fake cybernetic cosmetic modifications"? So, things that look like cybernetic upgrades/mods/whatever but are actually cosmetic rather than functional? I guess that depends on the exact aesthetic and effect you're looking for. I've certainly seen cyberpunk and biomech tattoos. And there are, of course, things like nape piercings and the vertical tragus/sideburn piercing. With flat disk tops and a little creativity one might imagine those to be the outward evidence of cybernetic implants. In the more functional category, I've seen people try to use magnetic surface anchors to mount devices on their arm/wrist. I've never seen that end well though. One or more of the anchors generally starts rejecting pretty quickly. I also recently stumbled across these gold leaf "tattoos" that can be used to control your devices. I think it was mostly done as a proof of concept, but it's still pretty neat.

I guess the place to start would be looking up cosplay of the things you're interested in. I've seen some AMAZING cosplays involving some really cool electric and mechanical elements. I'm sure you could take the same concepts to create prosthetic that will have the appearance, and in some cases the function, you're looking for
