Hey guys, I had my tongue split about 5 days ago and not to brag, but I have a pretty long tongue. My artist cut it really far back, and it kind of alarms me. It’s even deeper than the base (the tongue tissue beneath my actual tongue) or so it seems, and I’m worried it might cause problems once it’s healed. Is the base just also swelling and just appears that way? Anyone ever hear of issues with that? I’ve taken out half of my sutures so far from the tips going back. Would it help it grow back if I took some out at the very back? Will bacteria get trapped if I do this? Sorry for the questions, I just wouldn’t mind a more shallow split.

There is a chance its a lot of swelling causing things to look off... There is also a high probability that the split will not heal as deep as it currently is. Taking out the sutures before they're ready will probably just cause the skin to reattach, however if you're removing them tools that have not been properly sterilized it can leave you open to infection.
Have you been able to contact the artist who did the split? I know these are a major grey if not illegal area of practice, but if you can give us information on where you're located or who did the split we may be able to direct you to someone who can give you a second opinion in person. If thats not an option there are a few people who can look at photos of it for you (you can post those here to start)
