hey hey, i'm reviving this to ask a dumb question: HOW do you all make decisions when it comes to your house? First thing I did was choose a color scheme for my house. I don't like browns so went with a gray scale color scheme. I'm able to get into blues and purples this way and the rooms still look cohesive. Next would be to just start small. Like 1 room at a time. I probably *finished* the living room first because it's where we spend the most time in. I prefer more of a minimalist look so very few pictures and wall deocr but that's just me. You can always add as you find things. If you have a lot of lighting you can get by with a darker wall color. If not, go lighter. I worked at a DIY store when I first moved in to this house so the ideas and options are definitely overwhelming. Best of luck!

After 2+ weeks of dealing with someone at the city department and redoing building & site plans multiple times, I finally have the building permit for the garage addition! Ended up having to take 4' off the length of the building to meet 1 small ordinance clause but it's still large enough for 2 vehicles and a work bench. Concrete should be getting done in June sometime. Can't wait to not park in mud after it rains or snows!

I miss working on my house I'm too exhausted after work and all my days off are taken up by other people, so after repainting & hanging a single bedroom door i haven't made any progress since last year.

I made the executive decision that we're upgrading our showerhead - pretty sure the one on there hasn't been clean since it was new (and I'd have to assume it was put on when the house was built in the 80s). $30 and 20 minutes later, we have a showerhead that not only has a consistent spray, but it also is tall enough for brandon to use (since i purchased an extension arm for it too). Huge relief!

We bought a wetvac (specifically Bissell Spotclean Pro with the Bissell wash and protect pet stain & odour soap since we have a pup) and...if you're thinking about buying one, do it. We tested it one one corner of the carpet, and the water came out grey with a yellow tinge 🤢 we're not dirty people either - shoes off in the house, dog gets regular washes, ect. Safe to say the whole carpet and all the furniture is getting a once over now aha

I have three dogs plus three cats and I spot clean with it about once a month. I highly recommend Folex to spray on any "mess" spots before running your machine over, it works like magic.

Somewhere around January I ordered a bidet attachment for the house, and a couple months ago we finally installed it. OMG we shouldve done it sooner, I love that thing (we had a good laugh about how high up the water sprayed on the wall when we tested it too 😂). Other than that our projects have been relatively small, mostly just clearing out more junk/trash that we don't need, de-spidering the garage (sooooo many black widows and brown recluse 😬) and removing all the dead trees and bushes up against the house. Its kind of ridiculous how good it feels, like the house can breathe again.
Next projects will be mostly in the garage, setting up my pottery wheel space and his metal forging tools.

Been working on my upstairs for the last few weeks. It has lovely *insert sarcasm* blonde paneling, ceiling tiles that are smoke stained and the floor is worn down horribly. Doing one room that will become the kid's new bedroom right now. So far I've painted the walls, need to put another coat of paint on the new door, and started replacing tiles. Hoping in the next 2 weeks I'll have the ceiling done and new carpet down. Then I just have to move the kid's bedroom stuff up so I can renovate her room for my new business.
