Hi guys. I regret making a forum account just for one post, but given the exotic nature of the piercing Google was absolutely no help on the matter.
I have a full tattoo body-suit including genitalia and five piercings. One of which is a two-gauge transscrotal piercing, which I gave myself. It's a large, gold ring that goes all the way through the middle of the scrotum, with the other half of the ring hanging below. I know this piercing is supposed to be done by a doctor/surgeon that specializes in cosmetics, but I decided otherwise. I've had the piercing for about five months and while absolutely nothing has gone wrong or caused alarm, it occurs to me that I'm not sure it will ever naturally heal. I use medical tape to fasten the ring to prevent spinning, but that obviously only does so much and it still moves frequently. Moreover, I don't even know that this sort of piercing ever would heal on its own; as I don't know how the body reacts to that sort of injury.
I'm mostly looking to know if the skin will eventually grow inside, around the ring, and the healing will complete. In the same way that ear piercings heal by creating a clean hole. If not, I guess I'll have to see a surgeon after all to have it sutured, and I'd prefer to get on that sooner rather than later.
Thank you so much for any time or knowledge /

None of us are doctors and I think you need to call a professional to get sorted out. We can't really help you.
