I hate this... I hope we can change congress in two years at the bare minimum... I am so scared for people... this isnt about agreeing or disagreeing with policy... its about supporting or rejecting hate

I am so scared for so many people. On the boards and irl. I'm terrified and trying not to think about it right now. Husband and I are both brown liberal immigrants, our daughter is first generation American. We are what Trump hates, and it scares the crap out of me. I feel like I'm in limbo.

I have a friend who was texting me last night- I've told him I'm here for whatever he needs right now... He is an immigrant from Kuwait, here on a student visa getting a stipend as a research student at a local college, Muslim and gay... He also embodies everything Trump hates and his supporters hate. He has zero say in the election because hes on the student visa while working on his citizenship. He loves this country... and he grew up surrounded by luxuries and money, hes rejected a lot of that from his parents and has really worked hard to be where he is now. It hurts to see him so hurt... All of this is terrifying

I've got friends who fit everything Trump and his cronies hate, and I'm so scared for them all. If I had a way to get them all up to my neck of the woods, I would do so without blinking an eye.

I feel somewhat protected because the city I live in is solidly blue and has a strong history of accepting the people Trump has sworn to further marginalize, but, at the same time, I live in fucking Texas, our governor sucks, our Congress sucks and I feel double fucked on a state and federal level.
My boyfriend is frequently mis-identified as being the "wrong" brown (i.e. middle eastern); my best friend just married a foreigner; my queer friends are terrified; work clients are terrified they're going to be deported (and their families too); and I just want to hide in my closet and eat ice cream and binge shop on Amazon until I figure out what to do to help in a helpless sitution.

I'm so alone. I'm the only one here who gets what just happened. My husband, my coworkers, my family-- they all think I've lost my mind. Yup, typical hysterical female, you know. What is wrong with everyone???

I'm really scared of what will come. I'm definitely lucky/privileged to be straight passing and white, but I'm still scared for all other kinds of marginalized people out there who needed Trump to lose even more than I do. I'm scared for our planet because he denies climate change exists and will take zero measures to help us conserve the environment. I'm scared that I'll lose my health insurance and possibly my contraception (or that it'll become crazy expensive to get BC).
tldr; I'm just scared.

Britt, you summed up what scares me too and beautifully. I'm not American but my heart is with you guys today. My better half suggested that the world has been trending hard right for a while and a good solid fuck up from the extreme right wing (which we'll get with Trump in power) is what it needs to kick it back to where it should be. I am going to hope for it, anyway.

An FYI, for anyone worried about ACA being overturned and/or abortion being restricted, AND you don't want kids, as of right now the ACA rules means your insurance has to cover permanent birth control 100%. Tubal ligation, Essure etc, I don't think they cover vasectomy but I might be wrong.
Mine cost about $11 total, that was just for the vicodin and motrin prescriptions I didn't really need.

I was looking into my insurance coverage and came across "cost estimator." So I made sure it had my current address and I looked up both tubal ligation and Essure. Tubal would cost over $2,000 after my insurance and the only doctors found were over 300 miles away. Essure would be about 500 miles away and $840 after insurance. :/ And the OBGYNs over here will just automatically say "nope, you're too young" any time I've ever asked. They did it in NJ, too, but I was living there until I was only 23.

It's showing wrong then. They have to cover all of the procedure. The LAW requires they cover it 100%. Yeah it does suck trying to find a doctor in a lot of places though

I mean, it did say that it was just an estimate and actual cost may differ, but I think finding a doc who is willing to do it would be the hardest part, especially in GA.
If I keep having no luck finding a doc, then I'm willing to get a new Nexplanon, but I think I'll have to do it in 2017 instead of waiting for the expiration in Feb 2018. If they repeal the ACA, then I'd at least hope that we could keep coverage for 2017.
