My pre-op appointment has been moved earlier in the morning which works out better because I have to see another doctor at 7:30 so yay. I may be able to have a nap before work then.

I've got a microbiology lab exam this afternoon, gotta do a gram stain and a spread plate. I'm really hoping I get to use samples first because one guy on my bench always STICKS HIS FINGERS in the bacteria samples...

Be the fastest so he doesn't get there first.

What are some ideas for a Christmas present for a 1 year old? I need a gift for my nephew and want to get him something fun. His birthday was earlier this month and I gave him a Target gift card so I don't want to do another solely practical gift.

Surgery is officially booked. Nervous and scared but I need to do it. Thankfully I don't need a donor ligament but the post-op brace is $1400-$2000 though. Thank God I have insurance.

They're easier for younger kids to grab and stack, can't hurt them when a tower falls over, don't make a ton of noise, and can double as bath toys because they float.

Good luck! Also that's weird and gross. Be the fastest so he doesn't get there first. He wasn't there, thank god! Did get stuck with another idiot though who kept leaving all the bacteria plates OPEN... It's OK, bro, let's all get sick... I also totally meant to write streak plate but it went so well. Gram stain was 100% negative, no doubt about it. Streak plate lines were SO straight, it's the best one I've ever done. Aseptic technique, afaik, was on point too. Sad it's my last micro lab tho omg.

My kneecap maltracks so I have to have surgery to move it into a better position. Its 2-2.5 hours with an overnight stay. Need to double check with my insurance for hospital stays. I'll end up with a dirty scar that's similar to total replacement. It should but me another 10-15 years before replacement is necessary.

Yeah, I have the chondromalacia patella, which from my understanding is the same thing. my kneecap is pulled more the left. I also have a lateral meniscus tear and cyst. let me know how it goes for you. I'm interested to know another person's experience since im looking at the possibility of surgery as well.

Let's face it I'll probably be in here for most of it since I won't have anywhere to go ahahah. We're doing a tibial transfer osteotomy. I don't have to do any reconstruction of the ligaments thankfully but there might be some slight cleaning up she might do based on the what I can feel inside. Maybe it's because I'm exhausted but I'm confused by my benefits because the website keeps changing and the portal isn't helpful at all so I need to call and sort it out.

I asked in the fashion thread, but no one said anything. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Facebook lularoe party? They sell leggings, dresses in a few styles, skirts in a few styles, and tops in a few styles. It's a direct selling company, but it's a little different because they send their consultants a variety of sizes and patterns, and there are maybe one or two of the same patterns in one consultant's collection at any given party. Then the consultant ships the stuff directly to you. It'd be just like a 24 hour party thing, and I think they do a giveaway usually. They only ship in the US right now though. But I'd invite anyone who wants to participate! The person I'd do mine through said she should be getting holiday leggings soon

It's been incredibly windy all day and hasn't let up yet. I think the coldest today with wind chill was -11C (12F). It kind of reminds me of when we had the ice storm in 2013. It's kind of eery.
