i managed to get all of my textbooks ordered today. i didn't bother trying to find downloads (i feel like it's not as easy as it used to be & i'm lazy), but i was able to find a used, next-oldest edition on ebay for cheap for two of the three! the third one i'm renting thru amazon for 20 bucks. so in total i'm out like $45 for all three classes. B|
i look back on my first semester where i bought all of my books new through the campus store and shed a silent tear...

The only reason I'm not tore up about it at this school, is because they're pretty much taking up 80% of the cost of my books. I only have to pay 20%, so I have a small payment to pay that off.

Back to school today with exams in a few weeks. Add work and theatre and my student's council on top, I'm already dead inside. So looking forward to next semester!

My school's portal was down over the weekend, and I couldn't remember the section number for 3 of my classes, and of the remaining 2 only 1 had books listed. That 1 class has 5 books, only 1 of which I could easily find to download. Here's to hoping I don't have to buy 25 books this semester! (I'm taking Central European History 1848-1989, Baseball and US History, Women in US History, Junior Writing Seminar [accidentally took the senior one first], and Cold War Africa)

what classes are y'all taking this semester? I've got mechanics of materials (stress and strain stuff), graphical communication (generic name, but it's an autoCAD course), applied hydraulics (think pressurised pipe flow), construction materials (concrete and asphalt), communication (focusing on resumes and cover letters), integral calculus, physics, and surveying. Yay technical institutes lol

This thread is making me oddly miss schooling. Haha. I graduated with my Masters in Occupational Therapy in mid-2015 and have been working as an OT in hospitals and nursing homes since. I live in a pretty liberal area so piercings are not a big deal, but I do have to wear hider plugs at the hospital I work at. I got my undergrad in psychology and expected to go down that route, but found a calling in OT. Doesn't hurt that the job market is good, too! In case you're unfamiliar with it: www.aota.org/About-Occupational-Therapy.aspx

I think I posted about this somewhere before but hey, ho: There's a program called Inspiration (costs $$$ but you can easily find a download) which is a mind mapping software. It's SO GOOD.
Anyway, I have my Introduction to Cell Biology & Biochemistry exam in 6 days... I had all of Christmas to revise and I didn't because I clearly hate myself?? So now I'm panicking a bit but... we only need 40% and it's worth 40% (2nd exam need 40% but it's 60% idk) so idk. I can be more wrong than right so surely it's easily doable lool.
I also have my DSA (disabled students allowances) meeting at Uni today so fingers crossed that goes OK. D:
Oh yeah, I forgot: Yesterday we dissected a locust... On the 20th I GET TO DISSECT A MOUSE AND IM SO EXCITED

When I heard that I would have to dissect a baby pig in grade 11 bio i dropped the class. It was the first day. The sciences are not for me
