I love the black bird with orange and white in the wings (idk bird names sorry). They look like theyre trying to pick a fight with all the other birds. 10/10 😁 Also, your pictures in general are so pretty! ^-^

The blackbirds are mouthy little jerks sometimes, he was definitely yelling a bunch.

This little dude's been hanging around the deck for the last few days Cardinals are awesome. They are also ground feeders so if you put up a feeder with a flat part to sit on they'll hang out all season. They love easy food.

The wire/string that was holding our bird feeder up snapped a few weeks back and we haven't replaced it yet, and I totally forgot to look for a replacement. So thanks for accidentally reminding me.

Mike got me a bird feeder for Valentine's Day, so for the past week a few times per hour I've been creeping on our backyard to see birds. We mostly get those fat brown birds, but I've also been able to spot a mourning dove (my 2nd favorite bird) and a whole cardinal family (or at least a dude and a lady cardinal). Also we definitely have more outdoor cats, judging from all the little cat pawprints in the snow. Hopefully we're not setting any birds up to be eaten

Hopefully we're not setting any birds up to be eaten If there are paw prints they are definitely trying to kill some birbs. A taller feeder with a baffle will help the birds on the feeder but cardinals and many other birds in your area are ground feeders making them easy targets for cats. There are things you can do though! I'm exhausted right now so I can't type it all out but this link does a good job of summing it up, birdfeederhub.com/how-to-keep-cats-away-from-bird-feeders/ Just don't do the pepper thing, its so mean. I'm know you wouldn't but felt like I should mention it anyway since this is a public forum.

I'm bringing this thread back. Yesterday I set up a camera and left some peanuts on my table to see who had been stealing stuff off my porch. My theory of a blue jay was confirmed. I also saw a huge barred owl last night and got to watch him hunt. Lastly, I saw my first blue winged warbler in person. I was driving so I couldn't get a picture but he was so bright and beautiful. Just wanted to share! imgur.com/a/9M9tDrp

i've turned into an old man who bird watches in my backyard finally and wanted to share an app with y'all
but i recently found a really cool bird ID phone app that you can not only use photo ID but record audio to help identify the little dudes!!
its called "Merlin" and it's by the cornell lab of ornithology, super cool!
