officially broke out the winter jewelry aka stone. it gets too cold to wear glass now I wear primarily glass now...I need to get stone plugs. More goodies to buy on payday! Until they arrive I'll have to wear something to keep my ears warm on cold days. I do have silicone hiders if I need 'em, but I can't wear them for long periods these days. I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad about having to get more jewelry...

Has anyone been pierced at New York Adorned? I'm going to the city for the first time (eee!) in January. Friend is going, and I've been hankering for a new ear piercing for a while.
I did email, because the website only lists the prices for gold initial jewelry. I have really sensitive ears and have never tried to heal with gold. Otherwise, they seem to have pretty great reviews.

I just inserted 2g plugs after having 3g only maybe for ten days in my conches. The just slipped in. For a moment I was a little angry for myself on even paying for the 3g's, but the truth is I really needed them and wouldn't have reached to 2g without. The pain has been intense with both increments, but I like these 6mm's! Also, with this new addition I'll permanently move from GWS to GG. I liked GWS for they've flat front, but their flares are too varying. ...and now that I'm on it, 1g is tempting.

I'm starting to plan for redoing my tragus anchor when Samppa comes by next. Question for those with anchors - how often do you change ends? I've always done it when I felt like it but thinking about a different approach and sticking with one main piece, see how that helps it stay.

I have what is under my profile photo because I've just created an account and cannot yet work out how some aspects of this new board works and that's where it ended up

They were very uniform. I bought them again at 0. I think I have 4 GWS pieces. I haven't tried GG glass.

I have 8g lobes (current goal is 4g, but that may change), and a daith in my left ear. I officially have the bug now, and want so many more piercings! For sure I'll be getting 2nds in both ears, a nostril piercing, and a conch in my right ear. Seriously considering septum.

All I have are 4g lobes and 10g conchs. I will be getting a daith piercing in the near future, and have other plans that will probably wait until after I graduate/am more stable financially.
I've been considering getting 3 tongue piercings in a row, but I'm not sure if I should get them all done at once or separately, if they'll all fit in my mouth, or if I'll be able to let them heal without playing with them too much. I will never get any lip piercings because I know I would chew on them constantly.

I will never get any lip piercings because I know I would chew on them constantly. speaking as someone who has four: do them one at a time, but position them expecting you'll do all three. :) off-centers are definitely easier one at a time, since the tongue is two big muscles & you'll be able to eat reasonably well on just one side. centrals COULD be done two at a time, but it's difficult enough living with just one healing imo.

I second what Lish is saying. Tongue piercings are funny. They don't hurt at all to get done basically (centrally anyway) but holy hell are the first week or two difficult in my experience:
1) The swelling can be pretty epic.
2) The pain from that swelling can be pretty full on short term just from one.
3) Once the swelling first starts going down you can get all excited and end up biting balls not being careful when eating solid foods etc.
4) You can have a speech impediment for a bit - I only have one and I had a lisp for a while after until I learnt to make "L" and "S" sounds normally again. Adjusting jewelry also helped with this.
5) If you have a small mouth like me it can take a bit to work out exactly what your optimal bar length and end diameter is. I had to experiment a lot to get it right, the standard bar for me gets in the way way too much. I currently have a shorter than average bar, smaller than average ball on the bottom and a IS cab end as a top. I had to buy a lot of different bar lengths and ball sizes to work out what was perfect for me.
Now all this may not happen for you, but it is possible. I'd certainly rather deal with this one at a time. My tongue is one of my favourite piercings but I almost abandoned it a couple of times as it was one of my most complex to deal with.
As for me right now I'm getting weirded out by my side lip piercing right now, which is a week old now. It's not embedded but it is "nesting". It moves freely but the lip is still a bit swollen. I feel like my mouth would like to embed it given the chance but I'm not sure if I'm being paranoid. This can happen with me with piercings, sometimes I'm overly cautious...
