I've been keeping my nails an oval shape, they suit my stumpy fingers better than squoval. This is Cosmic Fate by Color Club.

I bit the shit out of my nails for a long time. It was super hard to stop so I totally sympathize.
I am now addicted to holo polishes, they are amazing.

I used to bite my nails until they bled, but what changed that for me was when my mother got me my first set of acrylics done for my 16th b-day. Chomping down on one of those and causing it to split all the way to the nail bed...the pain was horrific, and getting the fake nail taken off was a painful experience all on its own. I haven't chewed my nails since, but now they seem almost to have a terminal length. They will grow to a nice length but if they go beyond that they all start to shred and break, and there is no saving them. I have to then cut them all back short and start over...it's frustrating! So I am jealous of people who can keep lovely long nails and I will live vicariously through them

I'll have to try that, I picked my nails for 15 years and I'm finally starting to grow them out but they're very weak. I've been moisturising my cuticles with oil and I've seem their condition improve, but not much of a difference to the nail itself.

Giochoo, that orange colour is so pretty! Do you by any chance watch simplynaillogical? Because...holo...
Also lishd, do you think that'd work for nails that are a bit more messed up than just breaking? I've never bitten my nails, but maybe 5 years ago the quality of my nails just plummeted; they're soft to the point where they're actually SQUISHY, i cant grow them because they always rip/break, they're clear, and they have these lil ridges that form as they grow. I've tried an abundance of nail hardeners but none of them have done anything. I considered going to the doctors but...it seems like a waste of their time idk.

My nails are too long so I'm thinking I'll get them redone tomorrow but I'm not sure what colour. I swear half the time I delay it because I have no idea what colour to do next. I currently have a dark gray and pink combo going on. I'm debating maybe white or nude. I can't decide damnit.

Yes! As lish said, Biotin! I am on it now and have been for a few months. It hasn't completely fixed the issues with my nails, but has definitely improved the situation. My nails will actually grow out to a decent length now; the problem I face at this point is breaking. But, that can also be a result of bad thyroid which I'm under treatment for. I'm considering going to wearing acrylics again.
