My first tattoo was my thigh and it was pinchy around the hip area, but that's about it. I did fall asleep.

That's awesome, Sassure. I'll post this here too. I need some serious good vibes these days, so we cast some white ink bindrune sigils last night: We were going to do my thumbs too, but white ink takes about twice as long to pack as black does and it was getting late, so we'll do them later. But here are the stencils: Those are gorgeous petra

I'd love to see more pics, I'm thinking about doing more white ink in a more visible/sun-prone place. Are you planning on chronicling the process of healing/changes in them?

It's so hard to find good information about white tattoos. Hell, half the things I find about them have pictures of scarification instead of tattoos.

RE: thigh tattoos. Mine was a mixed bag. Parts of it hurt a lot, parts hardly at all. It definitely was the most difficult of my two large tattoos in terms of swelling and soreness afterward.

I just had another session on my jackalope thigh peace and my leg feels like an over microwaved hot dog.

Is that a Mark Ryden work? If it is, I love it, and if it isn't I also love it.

Hell, half the things I find about them have pictures of scarification instead of tattoos. If y'all are interested, I'd be happy to! I'm actually my artist's guinea pig because this is his first time doing white only on hands. Because of this, we're trying a couple things. The ones on my index fingers we used regular purple (gentian) stencil paper, and we also bought a red stencil paper which we'll use on my thumbs (which is what the red is on the photo I posted) to compare healing/staining. Just snapped these pics, so you can kind of see the gentian staining: Pissy knuckles aside, they're holding it together pretty well. Here is a macro closeup for science so you can see how the white ink is starting to show on the edges as the gentian gets pushed out: Oh, if I didn't mentioned already, this was dotwork done with a flat #3 on a rotary, which is why the white is coming through with stippled edges.

And it's not a Mark Ryden work, but my artist was influenced by that style (well, at least right now - it's a phase). He didn't want to do the stereotypical western theme and we decided on a limited palette because reasons.

Double posting, sorry about that. Anyway, if anyone has thigh pieces can you tell me how that went? I've been contemplating a piece for that area. I have two giant ones, one on each thigh I'm posting a lil pic of my beloved Owl-friend here, which was really easy in the start but towards the end of my 7,5 hour-session it honestly got really difficult. It healed like a breeze though. (I will get the partially covered lady below lazered and later covered with woods and leaves as I plan to get an entire forest-birds themed leg sleeve). The left thigh was easier though the tattoo is way bigger, because we split it up into 3-hour sessions. I just noticed that I don't have any complete pictures of that so here's a semi-bad photo of the second session out of four (so far). It hurt most closest to the knee, everything else was quite alright. I personally never factor in pain when I plan a tattoo since I don't think it matters as long as the end result is worth it.
