wasn't happy with my gws order. the front disk was just too big, and took up too much room in my nose. way too uncomfortable after a while. i was gonna go ahead and order from gorilla glass, but i saw a few people on here post about nirvana glass, so i did a custom order for 5g pieces. so excited! Got my septum goodies in the mail from baf. Just some earskins and cheap clickers to test out what looks I like before committing to anything of decent quality. Now I'm really tempted to change my jewellery, but I've gotta hold off until late January I'm still a bit afraid to even take my retainer out all the way though lol

I got the urge to get a small clicker or something to wear in my septum for fancy times. But just wearing one through an earskin won't do, it will just wobble around and piss me off so basically I'll have to wait until I get to goal and get an adapter maybe?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone could answer a couple of stretched septum questions for me! 1. my piercing has been healed for over a year now so I did my first stretch last night, it was a so easy, now i'm not afraid to start working towards my real goal, but first how long should I wait between stretches? I give my ears 3 months at the minimum (usually 4 or 5 months) and I figured the septum piercing may need more time but I havent found info on it? 2. If any of you stack rings through an ear skin tunnel (are they called ear skins when in the nose?) can you tell me if 8g would hold a couple of thin gauge rings (maybe 20g)?

I've had my septum pierced at 14g for 8ish years now, and have been meaning to get it repierced for a while - it's a little crooked and low (just low enough to hit cartilage, which felt splendid). I'm planning on taking my jewelry out before I get it pierced just cuz that seems right, but how far ahead should I do it? Also, I'd like to stretch my septum in the future (maybe to 4g/2g? Hard to say while being completely inexperienced with larger gauge septums) - is there a good initial piercing size for this? I wouldn't be opposed to dermal punching either.

If it's placed badly then you'll be getting it repierced in a different position anyway so it won't matter how long before you take it out. And I can only speak from personal experience here but I got my septum pierced at 10g with the intention to stretch to 4g and it healed like a dream. Currently at 6g.

At least 3 months between stretches. Septums can be a little more difficult than lobes, especially once you start denting. It obviously shoukdn't be super painful but it most likely won't be as effortless as lobes. 8g earskins suck and I always suggest to not even bother. The inner diameter in an 8g earskin would be closer to 10g so 2x 20g rings might be snug. Earskins only became easy to deal with at 6g+ for me.

As piercedoff says, 8g earskins are super fiddly, but it is possible to get them in. I can wear 2 16g rings in mine, so you would be fine with 20g. At this size I find it's easier to just insert the rings alone, without the earskin.

nirvana glass order came in. so in love with what i bought. will definitely be ordering from them again in the future. so thankful for people on here mentioning them!
anyway, i was thinking about an old thread i remember from baf. i can't remember the exact topic, but i remember people discussing stretching and then downsizing immediately after to "help" with any denting. does anyone remember this? sort of curious to know if anyone has done this, and noticed a difference in comfort?

I did it! I got my septum pierced yesterday! 14g with a retainer that I'll wear flipped up while it's healing. The guy who did it was excellent. He gave me a ton of info before he started, and all of his aftercare suggestions are legit (not like the dude who told me to wash my piercing with antibacterial soap). He chatted through most of the piercing, which gave me something other than discomfort to focus on. And when it was done, he gave me a mirror and taught me the easiest ways to clean and to flip the retainer (when it's time).
It hasn't hurt at all today, and I barely even notice that the retainer is in there. Now is the hardest part - waiting for it to heal so I can put something fun in there!

I took the earskin out of my septum a few weeks ago because something was irritating it, left it empty for a bit then couldn't get the earskin back in. I've been wearing a glass plug with an on o-ring since, and it's just as comfortable, but I am not used to the funk it seems to cause, I get none with the earskin. Also keep losing o-rings overnight/randomly at work which is getting annoying. Time to re-attempt the earskin I think!

I've been contemplating stretching my septum but I really don't have the foggiest idea where to start. All I know for certain is that it's somewhat different than stretching lobes. I had my septum pierced at 16g over a year ago and it seems to be well healed. Any tips or suggestions for somebody new to septum stretching? I really don't want to screw it up!
