Did you read the other books in the Oxford Time Travel series? I didn't even know anything about it being a series at all until that last page! I'm definitely at least checking out The Doomsday Book now, and adding The Passage to my increasingly to-long-to-ever-get-through To Read list. I'll look up the Chronically St. Mary's series when I get some time, too. Thanks for the recommendations!

I'm at 28% on my Goodreads reading challenge for this year (11 books out of 40 read). So far to go. And my to-read pile is HUGE lol.

I just finished Who Fears Death by Nnedi Okorafor and loved it! It's a very strange fairy tale set in post-apocalyptic Africa. I'll definitely be reading more from her.

Read so much right after school ended and I had a ridiculous amount of free time. Finished ASOIAF finally, read some YA and now I'm working on Pride and Prejudice.
Chapters/Indigo had an awesome deal going on this past few days where if you bought 3 books you got $5 of points and if you bought 5 you got $10 of points... so I did both! Now I have well over $20 of rewards for when I'm broke but want a new read

I'm about halfway through Sourcery by Terry Pratchett. I never read the Discworld books growing up, so I've been slowly working my way through from the beginning. I liked Mort, but I was really disappointed with the ending. I'm hoping for something a bit more satisfying for this one.
Once I'm done with Sourcery, I'll probably take a break from Pratchett for a while and read some Seanan McGuire.

I'm about halfway through Sourcery by Terry Pratchett. Ah the Discworld is the best! Terry Pratchett is one of my favourite authors, especially the books about the witches. If i remember correctly some of the earlier books are a bit harder to read, but it gets easier as he writes more and they give you context for everything else so worth it Currently reading a book on Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman (other favorite author) and its really enjoyable! I havent really been able to sit and read a story chapter to chapter lately, so a collection of short stories has been serving me well. I think maybe I'll re-read I,Robot after this for the same reason, otherwise i find myself just not reading.

My partner has been an avid fan since childhood, but I never got into them until about last year. I can only really listen to audiobooks while sleeping so it takes a damn while to take in a whole book but we almost have the whole collection in a playlist now for me to very slowly get through. I've not spent much time on any of the witches or death books, but my favourites are the Watch series. My first was Night Watch and it's just so perfect to me. I love Vimes' dynamic as he broadens his horizons during the series and learns to be a more respectful and inclusive person which you never see in the 'cynical old copper' trope. Carrot is my ultimate role model on how to behave in life, and again a person I've never seen written similarly elsewhere. I hope to be just as unflappably kind, humble and accepting, but also just as canny and sharp.

I'm hopelessly erratic at the moment and work is all-consuming so I've been a terrible reader.
trying to finish:
- let the right one in by John Ajvide Lindqvist - Say Hello (memoir by Carly Findlay, one of my favourite disability people ever)
and I just finished 11.22.63 last night which I have been trying to finish for days, so woohoo progress!

I just finished A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine, which I can concisely describe as "the most C.J. Cherryh book I've read that wasn't actually by CJC". I enjoyed it a great deal and it was no surprise at all to see the author cite Foreigner as a major influence. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on what she does next.
With that done, I'm continuing my project to read All The Valdemar with By The Sword and the Mage Winds trilogy by Mercedes Lackey.

Bumping this thread!
Anyone reading anything good lately? I made it a goal to try to read more this year but my last two books were total duds (Nice girls by Catherine Dang and The echo wife by Sarah Gaily). I mostly like fiction thrillers or mysteries. I did recently finish Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir and LOVED IT, though it was more sci-fi than my usual taste. Also Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney I was a huge fan of.
