I got a pattern for a bday gift! I didn’t make it myself but I got it on Etsy. Space invaders “you invaded my heart” to make for Simon. Finally got black Aida cloth. I think I’m gonna make a needle minder too!

I think I’m gonna make a needle minder too! Nice! Stitching on black can be kindof a pain, but if you stitch with good lighting or with something white across your lap (like a white towel or blanket) it helps a ton. The Harry Potter piece I'm working on is dark grey, and I actually got a book light to clip to my hoop. It's a HUGE help. But a bright lamp or light can help too if you're having issues with eye strain.

Putting it on a towel or blanket is a great idea, ty!

I made a "boho" bag again. Started it Sunday afternoon and finished the main sewing yesterday. Did the final touch by stitching on a button this evening. After the last 2 bags I had bought broke in no time at all I may have to just make a couple more. It was quite relaxing to just sit and sew.

Please tell me there is others of you who, like me, start a project and then just kinda... don't finish it LOL I've got two almost done cross stitch kits where the last thing to do is like (words r hard) finishing touches on top of the actual cross stitching? I've got boxes of fabric for projects that I 100% want to do but just haven't started. Or, better yet, anyone who USED TO BE like that and now you're a magical craft wizard that starts and finishes everything you think about

I have a box full of cut patterns that I had to get into to make my bag. And gallon sized baggies of cross stitch projects. And a bunch of other crafty things I "wanted" to use and just never got to it. You are not alone haha.

I knitted a mitten two months ago. It's sitting on my desk at work, next to all the materials and tools I need to finish the second one. I have NO desire to make the second one.

Hey crafty people, do any of you knit? I want a new hat and can't find what I'm looking for. Maybe because I'm picky but I dunno. I want a slouchy winter hat. I want it to be slouchy enough to fall down in the back and not stick up. I also want it made out of the softest and most comfortable yarn possible but not super heavy. I'm not worried about cost, just that it is exactly what I want. Does anyone want to take on this project and make a little money?

I'm working on two SALs (stitch-a-long's) right now. This is my progress on the Harry Potter SAL. I'm not entirely happy with the designs (I think they are kindof boring and the squares should be a lot more full) but I'm not motivated to make any major pattern changes at this point. This one is the Nintendo SAL, by the same designer. It was the SAL for last year (typically a SAL will release part of a pattern a month and run throughout the year) so I am stitching way late on it but I really want to stitch the whole thing. It's 24 squares, each is 60x60. It's HUGE. I had some hiccups with the fabric being cut uneven and being a bit warped but I think I stretched it enough to work. I am gridding on this one, which I've never done on a large scale like this. I'm using water soluble ink and gridding in 5's, because the pattern is gridded in 5's. Most cross stitch is gridded in 10's so it's a little annoying. I already made a counting mistake on the box below Mario, so when I finish the top row I'm going to wash out all the grid lines and start the gridding over. I had to count out the entire length of fabric in all directions to make sure I wouldn't run out of room (thank you weirdly cut fabric), and I should have plenty. This is the biggest thing I have ever stitched and the size of the fabric alone is massive. I finished Mario in about 5 days, and I've already started on the second block with is Legend of Zelda, but I only have the outline completed so far.

I'm going to venture into the wild world of enamel pins and put up a pre-order on my store for these.

Finished the Legend of Zelda square. Also started on Duck Hunt, but only have the grass done so far: We lost power Saturday night so I couldn't get any stitching done

Finished Duck hunt I'm a good way through the next block, which is Final Fantasy. The design is simple but very DENSE so it's taking forever to stitch. I can't wait to be done with this one, because I need to wash the fabric and remove the grid lines before moving on to the next row. I miscounted on the next row of blocks (by ONE square!) so I need to re-grid. No biggie, I'm looking forward to removing the lines on the boxes I already completed and ironing the whole thing. I'm super underwhelmed with this months block for my Harry Potter project. It's boooooooooooring. I'm in no hurry to stitch it, but there's a reddit SAL that just came out that I want to stitch so I might start that first.

First four blocks are done! And to give an idea of how big this thing is gonna be, here is the whole piece of fabric. It will have 4 squares across and six down. Cat for scale. (I gave up keeping cat hair off things a long time ago). I probably have enough room to add an extra row of blocks but I haven't decided yet.
