Hi everyone, Great posts! I am looking for some ideas/inspiration that I may do with these steel tapers. I was considering painting them but it isn't much of a masterpiece after that just a painted piece of metal. Otherwise they're going in the trash due to the bad quality of these poorly made tapers, I've seen acrylics with better tapering than these lol.

I just gifted this to my cousin and his girlfriend for their baby that's due in May! It's the first in this generation in our family, and we're all stoked! It's in I Love This Cotton yarn. This is my biggest project to date, and it's also my first time using crab stitch. I officially love it, despite how insanely tedious it is.

Dug this out of storage because I figured I should actually finish one of my many unfinished projects. My Ravelry notes show I started this in February 2017. Why did I ever think a fingering-weight wrap was a good idea.

Finished the next square for the Nintendo SAL, Kirby's Adventure! And here is the Reddit SAL so far. It's stitching up pretty quick, I think the next piece comes out in a few days. Also, I'm coming up with a way to reorganize my thread. AGAIN. Over the weekend when pulling thread for the Reddit project, I dropped one of my shoeboxes full of carefully organized baggies of thread. I kinda hate the flossbags system, it's hard to see the colors at a quick glance. I know that I don't want to bobbinate, because fuck bobbins. I've seen an idea floating around of using a "bar" type system using hanging files and rings and hanging the skeins on the rings. I really like this idea because I want to keep the floss in skeins, and I can have it all in one hanging file box (vs the baggies are in almost 4 clear plastic shoeboxes boxes, bobbins would be in maybe 6-10 flat cases), and I can easily look and see which colors I don't have and need to stock up on during sales. I want to figure out a labeling system that makes sense, and I would only really need to purchase around 500 1" binder rings and a hole punch.

Donkey Kong! I took a short break after finishing Donkey Kong to work on my thread storage. I ended up trimming down hanging files, punching holes (17 holes each), and used DMC labels to label each color. I loooove the look of the DMC labels, but I might need to add a strip of clear tape across them to stay stuck long term. I was using a different label with my flossbags, which had the number and a color swatch, but I like the simplicity of these better. I think I hurt ALL my fingers opening these damn binder rings - of the 500 I purchased, about a solid 100 of them won't open at all, which I'll be exchanging. I bought a pretty hanging file case with a handle and it ended up being too small. I exchanged it for a not-as-pretty case, but it's the perfect size. I was really determined to have all the floss in one box or case and NOT multiples. Anyway, here it is so far. I still have a bag of unlabeled bobbins I have to sort through and some off-brand floss I need to match up to DMC. From the top of the box - the little labels are soooooo visually satisfying. I don't have a full set and some skeins are already in project bags, so I have a lot of empty rings. But here's what they look like on the rings. I would like to eventually remove ALL bobbins but for now I don't mind them being mixed in. I can also loop extra thread through the rings which is nifty View from the side + extra labels at the bottom of the bin

Powering through and I'm almost done with the shawl I started over a year ago. I'm out of the rainbow and just have to do another inch or so of the green garter edging. Right now it's ~64" across and 19" from top to point unblocked. I don't know if I have enough foam mats to block this on when it's done. I have some huge sheets of pegboard in the garage so I'm probably going to have to rig something up.

I finished two more Nintendo blocks Contra - this one took forever Excitebike - one of my favorite NES games! This one stitched up really quick compared to Contra - I was done in just over 2 days (maybe 6-7 hours stitching time total) compared to the full week (maybe 20 hours?) that Contra took. I swapped the white thread for grey since you couldn't really see the white on white fabric, but I like it. A bit more completed on the Reddit SAL - I still need to fill in the cat snoo and add the face details but should be completed today. The next pattern piece came out yesterday which was r/funny and it's a clown snoo with a circus tent and I LOVE IT. I'm going to get completely caught up on this one before I go to the next Nintendo block.

I talked to someone about showing at their gallery in a few months during the gallery crawl! Now to actually get some art finished.... That's awesome!!! Excitebike finished the second row of my Nintendo SAL, so I took a progress pic after removing the grid lines. It then sat in a laundry basket for about two weeks until I felt like stitching again. I did finish a block this week though, Chip & Dale. Which I had the theme song stuck in my head every time I stitched.
