there is NOTHING i can do to keep the adult cats from eating garbage's kitten food! it is driving me wild! i can't free feed her anymore so i have to just feed her 27583926 times a day and guard her the whole time! they're all getting fatter and they have no desire to eat their own food anymore! the nerviest one doesn't even react to the spray bottle anymore! he just sits there getting sprayed and gobbling down kitten food as if his own food bowl isn't full! lily is very adorable!

Can you feed them in different rooms? our cats eat different kibble and we also have them in different rooms. beam (the black one) loves the other cats food so we usually put it up high until she asks then we lower it on the table. it took him like 2 years to realise that she was having something different than him, though haha. she's a Persian so her food is higher in fat I think? His is for dental care because the vet recommended it for him when we brought him in for a check up when we first rescued him.

What Rayne said, sometimes you have to put them in a bathroom or other closed room until they eat. They should learn that if they don't eat the food while they're in there for 10-15 minutes that they don't get food (because the others then eat it). With that said... all of ours now eat the special food because it was too difficult to deal with 3 bratty boys trying to steal food. :/

i guess i just didn't want to do that cuz it took forever to get them introduced to each other & even eating in the same room ;( but you guys are right, it's really the only option. i thought for a while it was just because she was getting wet food in the beginning and they weren't, but they even do it with her dry food.

I had to switch my kitten over to the prescription food my older cat has, it's literally impossible to separate them. The kitten is in "eat all the things!" mode all the time. The vet said it's fine though, it's more of a preventative type of food.

We're coming up on the 1 year anniversary of getting our kitties. Other than some initial health issues (they were fostered with 14 other cats and both had kennel cough when we got them... nightmare...) they're the best. Here's Felix: And Murphy (aka Mr. Ridiculously Photogenic): Snuggly boys:

I was cold this morning so I forced Brew to cuddle with me under blankets... by forced I picked him up and stuck him there because I can, but wouldn't keep him there against his will... we snuggled and he slept for a while like that. We go to bed tonight and he was sitting where he usually sleeps looking at me, and started to paw at the blankets. I moved it a bit thinking he was nesting or something... cause he's a weirdo... and he saw an opportunity to get into the blanket pile to snuggle, and now sleep, under them again...As he snores away with his head on my pillow.

Pretty much! We're thinking some sort of mastiff/chow mix.
