I am also on the struggle bus trying to get from 10g to 8g. I'm in no hurry, though, so I'll either wait until I happen upon a 9g piece or until I am bored enough to start trying to tape.

Yesterday I rubbed my nose and my earskin came flying out of my septum. I guess this means it has self stretched but it was really weird!

2g got uncomfortable for me so I went back to 4g. I can leave it empty and it doesn't shrink at all so I think this is where I'm staying, I'm a little sad though because I really wanted to get to 0g.

Downsizing back to 12g, I changed out to 12g a weekend or so a few times since stretching to 10g, and lately it's been a bit sore for my liking, so I decided to swallow my pride and downsize for a while since I won't be wearing visible jewellery for a while. Back in my tiny staple retainer, I think I'll order another for when I'm at 10g cause I've pretty much accepted I won't be able to deal with an earskin that small.

Man, I cannot wear earskins in my septum. Too dry, even with lots of cocoa butter. Lol.

Same. I can handle an earskin for like a day or two tops until my septum gets really irritated, so I just stick with going naked. I'm glad that it stays open at 2g on its own.

I got my septum re-pierced (in the right place this time) and man, healing is a dream compared to last time. except when I mash my face into the pillow at night or rub my nose forgetting it's there and drag some crusties into the hole. that's... not so nice.
I need to start saving up for some nice jewellery for it.

I keep seeing people from Facebook groups talking about stretching by stacking rings. Does that sound like a really bad and uncomfortable idea to anyone else?

I keep seeing people from Facebook groups talking about stretching by stacking rings. Does that sound like a really bad and uncomfortable idea to anyone else? I think it just helps stretch the fistula in an oval, I know a couple people here went that route since .5mm increments were not working for them. Plus if the end goal is stacked rings I get why they'd want them to "settle" differently.

I can handle an earskin for like a day or two tops until my septum gets really irritated, so I just stick with going naked. Even that is for longer than what I've ever managed. Some years ago I did some photos with nice magnificent purple earskin droopage, and it began to feel bad after 20 minutes. Although I feel Chaos has good products, not in my nose, ever again. I must say I was really puzzled with all this talk about earskins, until I just realized it must work for most. It also always felt awkward to stack rings though one, they itched and slipped off. Well, I'm fine with glass and don't usually feel like hanging adornments.

CRAP. I just remembered I knocked my septum jewellery (2ga) out last night while getting the sprog ready for bed, but got distracted and forgot to put it back in. Blast. It's probably been out for about 14 hours now and it'll be another half a day before I can get it back in, I hope it doesn't shrink too much

I have a couple of newbie questions. I will probably be getting a basic nose piercing soon, and am seriously considering the septum as well.
1. I have to blow my nose several times a day. I feel like this is going to be a problem with a septum - or at least possibly painful or messy. Anyone have firsthand experience with this? Will it be as bad as I'm expecting?
2. I don't know for sure, but I may not be able to have a visible septum piercing at work. Is it possible to get it pierced with a piece of jewelry that allows it to be hidden until it heals? If so, what jewelry would I be looking for?

I've had mine pierced for about a month. I'm recently sick, so I've been sniffly and having to gently blow my nose. I haven't gotten the hang of it yet (if that is such a thing), so right now it definitely is annoying lol. I got mine pierced with an anatometal retainer, so it stays up and hidden unless I'm cleaning it.
