My septum is almost always empty due to my line of work these days. It hovers around a 4/2g but self stretches back to 0g within days of having a plug in it. I still have love for GG pinchers and would love more. I would just very rarely get to wear them.

I always just have an ear skin in my septum because of my workplace. The other day I actually wanted to wear something visible in it, and I realized that I don't actually have anything that works anymore! Things that I wore in the past just don't look right now at 4g. I'm going to have to find me at least one piece to wear when I'm in the mood.
Maybe I'll try some seamless rings. Or an adapter for my 14g clicker.

Yesterday I wore a clicker in my septum piercing to work, which was the first time wearing visible jewelry. No one cared! My manager was the only person that noticed it, and she said she didn't care at all if I wore it. I'm super pumped!! I mean... my workplace doesn't really have a dress code and I do have visible tattoos... but I was still scared to have my septum piercing be visible for some reason.

I'm hoping when I get job that isn't in a kitchen I'll be able to have visible piercings at work.

I am definitely very luck to work in a place that doesn't frown on body mods. That's interesting though that you can't wear piercings in a kitchen... is it because of "sanitary" reasons?

Which is basically nonsense as you are allowed to wear a wedding ring and a pair of earrings but no other piercings are allowed.

And it's a boyscout/girlscout camp too?? The most pierced people who work at the youth center work in the kitchen... I think that's hilarious that jewelry on your hands is allowed (which touches food through gloves) yet not the stuff on faces that won't even be near the food.. but meh the difference could just be a regulation thing/my boss being super lenient about that stuff.

I once dropped the ball to my philtrum labret into a bowl of potato salad I was making, so I can see why they don't want any excess jewelry around food. (the potato salad got thrown out after I fished my ball out of it.)

When I worked in a kitchen they wouldn't even allow earrings (but that's all I had at the time so I was fine removing them) and they cited jewellery falling into food reasons, and also that they could transmit bacteria if you were touching them a lot.

Anybody with their septum pierced have chronic allergies that cause sinus symptoms? I'd love to get my septum pierced, but I wonder if I'd be setting myself up to fail. I can usually keep my allergies under control with a daily nasal spray, but I wouldn't be able to use that while it was healing.

Many people get sniffles of a decade anyways after getting their septum pierced. It might take longer to heal and it could need a little more gentle cleaning, but overall I don't feel that it would matter much. At least mine allergic spout healed pretty soon. Of course you might want to take into a consideration when is the most neutral season for you.

Septum has been super irritated for the last few days; I chalked it up to general weather change bullshit, but I removed my earskin to give it a good once over and the damn thing has torn right across the stupid little K that kaos stamps on everything. This is the third time this has happened and I'm running out of earskins (1/4", of course). Normally I'd wear glass for a few days until it clears up, but I resold all of my old glass pieces because I didn't need them around anymore. For the next few days I'm stuck wearing a too-long steel plug until things calm back down. This sucks.
