I'm wearing invisible braces and I'm super excited. It's only been six months and I can see and feel huge changes. Odessa, I'm so glad you posted about this! I just got ceramic braces 10 weeks ago. I was always so self-conscious of my teeth and have wanted to do it for so long, but I felt bad about spending that much money on my appearance and not on my children. I'm looking forward to getting them straighter! It has always been so hard to keep them clean because of the crowding. I've felt like such a dweeb too! I can't wait to get them off...

What kind of cardio-type exercises would you guys recommend for someone wanting to get fit at home? Can't afford swimming or going to a gym (wouldn't want to be in front of people anyway) or anything that needs to be done outside. Stuff we've done before is things like star-jumps and squats and running on the spot. Anything else more interesting or beneficial? We have a set of weights but not here right now. I want to avoid doing overly loud things like burpees cause there's people living below us. Also tips on how to motivate when you're depressed and tired? Look into FitnessBlender on YouTube! They have a ton of videos you can do at home without any equipment at all, and some with weights as well. They have low impact modifications for their movements also, which is what I had to do when I lived in an apartment. Sorry you're feeling down, I don't have any tips but just want to commiserate. I have been there countless times myself. I use fitness blender and sometimes when the exercise is difficult I yell out "Kelly, you bitch!" or other things.

Last month I finally realized that I'm skinny fat. I'm only 5'8 and 153 pounds but I have a noticeable paunch and my arms are starting to look a bit too chicken wing-ish. My new cardio plan is to adapt my old boxing routine to do at least 300 jump rope reps every morning. Aiming for that to be 1,000 in 2-3 months.
And lol on the "squat booty" comment.

Thanks for all your advice guys! Looked into FitnessBlender tonight and did 3/4 of one of their beginner workouts! It was really fun, mainly involved laughing at how incredibly dyspraxic and uncoordinated I am.
I really liked the thing they said about at least I'm moving, and while I really do want to lose weight so I can fit back into my clothes and bind effectively, it's mainly for de-stressing purposes at the moment. If I can make it less about a self-hatred thing, I'm more likely to keep it up. I at least did way more moving than I would normally have done, and now I have way less cortisol fucking up my system and I'll be able to focus on the papers I need to read and the essays I need to write.

Ooh, booties. Ahem. I'm some what active in local cycling clubs. I cycle almost daily for about 8 miles (12+ km), at almost any weather the whole year, and winter cycling is a thing in Scandinavia, where there can be tons of snow and there is a need for active correspondence for city planning. So our cyclist clubs are driven and many of us take this as real commitment. Anyhow. Cycling isn't the best sport to get a nice booty, and I'm actually a little sad that not many of my cool friends have a nice ass. A good trait to concentrate on when picking your friends, right? Hah, no fear, it's nothing I focus on. Last month I finally realized that I'm skinny fat. Your program sounds good. It'll be worth it! I also struggled with skinny fatness when I was younger, but gladly that can be changes pretty easily.

So much mom guilt! I totally get that. But it's not just cosmetic. I can't bite into apples or corn on the cob without getting a bruise on my lip. I wake up with bitemarks deep in my lower lip. I don't smile when I should because I feel shy . You are making everything better and it will all be worth it, don't worry

That's so awesome, good job!! I am also extremely uncoordinated, so I only do workouts when I am alone lol. I also like seeing Daniel or Kelli struggle with the workouts as well.. it shows that they don't necessarily find them easy either, but they just do them and power through

It's really nice that they said it takes time to learn the motions and things and not to worry if it doesn't look perfect and stuff. Cause yeah, I don't think I've ever done perfect form on any kind of exercise I've ever done but if it's not dangerous, I guess it really doesn't matter as long as I'm moving.

That is such a good point! I guess the good thing about practicing good form is that it's still a workout I really need to start doing their workouts again, I got into lull of not being active at all really, so all this talk about it is definitely motivating me

Not quite a body change but I had my first Gender Identity Clinic appointment today! After a year and a half on the waiting list. Normally they do three initial appointments for the assessment, but since the waiting times are so long, my assessment was done all in one appointment!
My therapist was really nice and pleased with my life timeline of gender dysphoria and said there should be no issue with me getting a GID diagnosis from the doctor, and put me straight on the doctor's waiting list (which is about a year or more) right away! So in this new timeline, if I get my doctor's appointment in December 2017, then I could be starting T by early 2018! And getting top surgery by 2019! That's maybe a year earlier than my previous most conservative estimate.
