I know we had a weight loss thread on baf, but I know that's not the only positive change to be excited about. So share your exciting changes like weight loss or gain, muscle gain, transitioning, laser eye surgery, etc, here if you so desire!
I went off of a medication that wasn't really doing much for my migraines at the end of September, and my hormonal birth control pill, and combined with eating a bit less since starting my job st subway, I've lost around ten lbs and I'm very excited. I want to keep working at that. I got a backpacking pack for my birthday and I want to get into good enough shape for some pretty significant hikes and dropping some more weight will only help with that!

Bah! My mom was here for a week so we ate at all my favorite restaurants, I had a couple of drinks and ate all the Halloween candy. Plus I ate a bunch of dairy which I can't handle. It's fine in small amounts with my lactose pills but I was way over the top and by the end of the week I felt like shit. So until thanksgiving, I'm going back to no refined sugar, no booze and I'm going to try to drink veggie heavy smoothies for breakfast and lunch. And no delicious, delicious dairy. I need to get my fruit and vegetable consumption back up and my consumption of foods that give me headaches and stomach problems down.

Since I started seeing my Dr in October last year and getting on my medications for my thyroid and such, I've lost 27lbs over the last year. That's a slow loss, but I think I prefer it that way. I'm hoping to keep seeing more weight loss. I want to start making better food choices to help progress things along.

I'm so glad I don't have dairy problems. Cheese is life.
I've been going to the gym with my boyfriend since we moved back to Manchester together and I'm feeling pretty good about it. I am not fussed about changing my appearance but I like getting stronger.

Cheese is the shit. This time of year makes me happy because all the cheese and sausage, YES PLEASE. Anyway, OT, i've lost another pound, making my total weightloss 28lbs overall. I'm happy about this. But, I'll be ecstatic when I reach an overall loss of 30lbs. small goals at a time man, small goals haha.

I want to be able to do pull-ups. On a good day, I am lucky if I can do 1 pull-up or maybe 2 chin-ups. I'm so excited because I've been working out with 10lb dumbbells twice a day, and doing descending chin/pull-ups using a stool, and I can tell I'm getting stronger.
I still can't do more than one freaking pull-up though *pouty face*

We have a pull up bar that the previous owners installed in the garage. a) I'm two feet too short to reach it, b) I'm fat as shit and would break my own arms, and c) I don't think the attic beams were designed for that level of stress.
I totally want to be able to do pull ups though. I want to be strong as an ox and twice as handsome. I need to start doing wall push ups or something each day to start.

i really want to work on my upper body strength too, but i do not want to keep spending the money on a gym membership. i really need to discipline myself to work on strength things and other exercise things. also better eating.

Apparently I've had Crohn's disease for years but it only became severe 18-24 months ago. I lost 28% of my bodyweight in 3 months, then gained most of it back 6 months ago when my meds finally started working properly. I started exercising over the summer since I absorb protein properly now so I can actually build muscle, and I'm starting to see results. I have defined muscles in my legs and I don't even have to flex to see them. Hopefully my abs will start to show up next.

Get resistance bands for pull ups! They negate some of your bodyweight so that you can get the full range of motion of a pull up while strengthening your back. Also, do tons negatives, which is where you start at the top of the pull up and very slowly let yourself down.

i want to get more body mods, tattoos especially, but i have to focus on saving for a name change, gender-related medical stuff, etc.... sigh. with "Obamacare" about to be scrapped, whatever future thoughts i'd had about (temporarily?) moving back to the US to pursue medical stuff seems a lot less feasible now... depressing. tempted to blow money on more "instant gratification" body changes mods like the tattoos that i want anyway, but no. can't loose sight of the goal because the goal will need financing one way or another.....
....hopefully despite the impending doom that is the onset of winter, i'll be able to get off my tired ass and cycle more... at least it's something to focus my energy on and if i'm really lucky, maybe i'll loose a kilo in the process. sigh. [/venting]
