Finished two SALs in the last couple of weeks Stitchonomy Drawloween SAL Steotchalong #7 So glad to finally have these done! It gave me the push I needed to pick my Nintendo SAL back up. I started stitching a block I charted last night, and today I went looking around for inspiration and I found two blocks I LOVE and got permission from the author to stitch them. I'm pretty excited to get this thing finished, my goal is to have it done by Christmas.

Both your projects came out so well! I didn’t finish drawlloween, and I’m not sure if I’ll work on it for awhile, but it’s not a massive project so I might pick at it. Here’s my finish for steotchalong 7 http://instagram.com/p/B5JvO4vBo3L

Thank you!! <3 I signed up for the Stichonomy snowflake SAL but I'm a little SAL'd out right now so I'm just going to collect the patterns and maybe make it later. I'm not planning on doing a ton of holiday stitching (HAHA IT'S ALREADY ALMOST DECEMBER) but I'm going to do a stitch people portrait for my SIL's family. It will be small and not incredibly difficult, but I'm having a hard time finding the motivation to make a pattern for it. Anyway, here are my two recent Nintendo blocks. I have ONLY ONE LEFT. Unsure if I will get both this and the gift completed by Christmas, but that's the goal. The black bass - nobody I have shown is familiar with this game. It's a fishing game that I looooved as a kid. And Mario 2

Does anyone know any good websites for body references/life drawing/whatever you want to call it?
Im trying to practice more, ive tried looking but I can't find anything that isn't just 'ideal' women. Like today i was looking for references of chubby/heavy set guys and theres literally nothing?? The whole reason I'm doing this is because i realised the only people i can draw are 'ideal' women (wonder why) and chubby women (have my own body for reference). Nothing wrong with those groups, but id like to branch out. Im going to ask my partner if he'll let me draw him but i doubt it, hes a bit self conscious bless him
Any help would be appreciated, pretty fustrated with it all atm so

Depression has been hitting me hard lately and I didn't really want the pressure of having to stitch gifts this year. My SIL's family ended up not being able to come for Christmas, so I decided if I wanted to stitch something I could take my time and just send it late or whatever. I ended up finishing this in plenty of time to get it to the post office and it was delivered on Christmas Eve - Framed - My husband also requested I stitch something for his desk - he works out of multiple offices and one he just got assigned an actually office with a door at one of the buildings he's in a couple days a week. We have been binging a lot of Deadliest Catch lately and Matt Bradley is his favorite. He says a lot of funny one-liners. He was off for a season or two and when he came back and was hauling crab in an ice storm he made this comment, presumably after coming back from selling vape juice. My husband laughed so hard and said something like, no matter how bad it gets, at least I'm not selling vape juice.

I finished it!!!!!! I really wanted to get this done by the end of 2019 and I put in the last stitch Saturday night. The pattern is the Nintendo SAL by Armada Designs and this is the biggest piece I've ever stitched. The 5th column was not part of the original design (except for Let's Play which was originally the 24th block with Dr Mario as a bonus square). I designed my own blocks for The Black Bass and 1942, and got permission from a lovely lady in our SAL group to use her designs for Snow Bros, Mario 2, and Mario 3. I started stitching in March, 2018 and finished December 2019. There are over 50,000 stitches and the full piece measures about 21x25 inches before proper stretching. The blocks are: Block 1 - Super Mario Bros Block 2 - The Legend of Zelda Block 3 - Duck Hunt Block 4 - Final Fantasy Block 5 - Snow bros Block 6 - Kirby's Adventure Block 7 - Donkey Kong Block 8 - Contra Block 9 - Excitebike Block 10 - Super Mario Bros 2 Block 11 - Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers Block 12 - Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! Block 13 - Metroid Block 14 - Bubble Bobble Block 15 - The Black Bass Block 16 - Castlevania Block 17 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Block 18 - Ninja Gaiden Block 19 - Adventures of Lolo Block 20 - Super Mario Bros 3 Block 21 - Ms. Pac-Ma Block 22 - Mickey Mousecapade Block 23 - Mega Man 3 Block 24 - Bomberman Block 25 - 1942 Block 26 - Balloon Fight Block 27 - DuckTales Block 28 - Tetris Block 29 - Dr Mario Block 30 - Let's Play!

As always, I grossly underestimated how much knitting grows when wet, and forgot how little space I have in the garage for gigantic shawls. This is 8 feet across. I need a house with a huge basement.

^ That shawl took two and a half months to make, on and off (I completely lost motivation when I only had about 10 rows left and didn't touch it for a solid month) so I made my next project something I could finish quickly. Started this last night and finished it while waiting on the world's longest oil change at Toyota this morning.

I love them both 😍the colors are so pretty. What yarn did you use on the shawl?
I’ve been knitting a lot. Quick finish projects like scrunchies and scarves, but I really want to make myself a cardigan or hooded sweater. My worry is finding a pattern I like that’s not too scary, and then yarn in colors I’ll want to wear. Nothing worse than making something you don’t want to wear!

I love them both 😍the colors are so pretty. What yarn did you use on the shawl? Thank you The green and the solid purple are both from Bitter Buffalo, I got them a couple of years ago at a yarn fest and they sat in my stash for ages. The speckled purple was a gift from Thready Bears Yarn, and the pink at the end was an unlabelled merino/cashmere destash skein from some random seller on Etsy.

I've told myself I'm going to do that for the last 4 years at least. And then it's the middle of February and I go "oh yeah I forgot about that. I'll totally do it next year." Repeat 4evz until I have died

I've been working on this burger-striped hat for a few weeks and they discontinued the colour today. So obviously I bought 11 more balls so I can make a matching scarf and gloves at some point.
