I had no idea that glitter liquor bottles was a thing people did! I agree that a bunch of them look trashy though. I just want a holographic skull! I wonder how long those bottles held up for.

FWIW, if you mix the glitter into some Mod Podge and paint the outside of the bottle that way it can be a lot easier/use less glitter than doing it inside the bottle. If you do it in repeating layers, the glitter will achieve full opacity while still being totally contained by the mod podge/not getting everywhere. If you seal it off with a final layer you shouldn't have any flaking or shedding either. Basically, this: www.rookiemag.com/2012/01/glitter-shoes/

^And if you did that, you could try Christine's method of painting the glitter mixture onto a makeup sponge and pressing that onto the surface to get s really condensed layer of glitter instead of having to do a crazy number of coats.

Thanks everyone! I think I am going to buy some cheapo non-holo glitter and some glass tubes and such to practice a few of these techniques. I'll post pics of the final product once I am done!

We have this glue at Michaels for coating the inside of ornaments with glitter that I'm sure would totally work justine but I don't remember what it's called.

My most recent completed painting. Had loads of fun with glitter on this one. Took a while to get all the colors of glitter I wanted for this piece but really happy with the outcome. I want to make more glitter art... but I also want to stop finding glitter everywhere. >.O I have a stash of glitter now so I've got to come up with more uses for it.

I love you tiny baby circular needles. I did 95% of this during work, no more than three hours total maybe. Second one should be done tomorrow!

PiercedOff what yarn did you use? I love it so much I'm working on a knitted starfish. 3.5/5 arms done. I think I'll be able to finish it tomorrow which is today but I haven't slept yet /night ramble.

It's Knitcol by Adriafil. I got it ages back when I was in the UK. Looks like you can get it online here but it's like $10 a ball which seems a little high.

I got some edwardian walking skirt patterns for a costume yesterday. I went and cut it all out and taped the patterns edges. Today hopefully I`ll be able to cut mockup fabric

Quoting myself but I knew I'd used something similar before - it's not too far off Patons Kroy sock yarn, maybe a little thicker. Kroy isn't as expensive though and they have some similar striping patterns.

I just bought three skeins of Caron cakes to try and make more amigurumi after my starfish is finished. He's turning out so cute. I've made some mistakes but I think I know how to fix it next time
