Finished most of the project I'm making for my SIL's baby that's due at the end of the month. I feel like the letter spacing is a little off but I'm trying not to let it bother me. Does it look bad? On the bottom I'm adding "Born on x date, 2017, Weighing Xlbs, Xoz Born in X, Texas". I won't know the date/weight until he's actually born, obviously. I'm probably going to start the stuff I can fill in and leave the rest until the last minute, which will probably lead to stitching on the 5 hour drive to their house and ironing/framing in a hotel room.

Anybody already planning things for Halloween? We don't want to give out candy this year (every time we buy candy, no kids show up and every time we don't buy it, they do show up). BUT, I want to wear a costume because Halloween is on a Tuesday, so I'll be at work.
I already bought some black fleece fabric and a little purple spider web patterned polyester lace. I'm honestly not sure if they'll sew together well, but I want to make my own bat costume in the form of a pullover hoodie. I want to use the purple lace as the lining for the wings and bat ears on the hood. I can just wear black leggings underneath, most likely.
I kinda want to do a jack-o-lantern again, but we have been having a huge fruit fly problem recently, so we probably won't. The bugs may go away by then, but it stays warm here into October.

we have been having a huge fruit fly problem recently in a cup: apple cider vinegar & a bit of liquid soap on the cup: saran wrap with a rubberband & pop some holes in it with a pen the fruit flies will be gone in a day.

we have been having a huge fruit fly problem recently in a cup: apple cider vinegar & a bit of liquid soap on the cup: saran wrap with a rubberband & pop some holes in it with a pen the fruit flies will be gone in a day. We've been doing the AC vinegar with dish soap and the sarap wrap seems to deter them from actually going through the holes. So we've also tried filling them to the brim and a lot of them have gone into the cups, but they must be reproducing somewhere. I've been trying to keep the sink clean as possible and keep dirty dishes out all the time, but there must still be something here they want. I don't even have any fruits or veggies sitting out, either. :/

Instead of saran wrap, you can make a tiny paper funnel.

Instead of saran wrap, you can make a tiny paper funnel. I'll have to try that as soon as I buy another bottle of AC vinegar. Thanks! your fruit flies are weird! that takes care of mine in like 2 hours. Yeah, these guys have been plaguing the apartment for at least 2 months now. They're crazy. There have been a few times when they seemed to be disappearing and then they'd just come back full force. Maybe the climate here is helping them stick around and reproduce? It's been still hot (80s F) and very humid in GA. My apartment is pretty small (600 sq. ft.) and they mainly stay only in the kitchen. I also have fly tape ribbons that have been working, but I'm guessing that they're reproducing somewhere in this place. I wish I could pinpoint where that is so I can maybe boost their disappearance.

My fiancé's brother and sister in law have a trap in a mason jar with a paper funnel. It seems to work really well!!

Finished cross stitch for my nephew. I ended up finishing the bottom bits while my SIL was in labor at the hospital and stitched the weight while in the car on the way to our motel that morning (after 36hrs no sleep!) so that I could have enough time to wash and have it dry while we napped. I brought an iron/frame/etc. with us to finish it in the motel room and it actually worked out perfectly, I was able to gift it to SIL & BIL that afternoon
