My wonderful neighbor offered me a chest of drawers and matching end table that belonged to her mother. She doesn't have room for it and her daughter just got a brand-new bedroom set. Whatever, I said sure since I've been hanging Torfinn's pants on hangers in the closet because we have nowhere else to keep his clothes.
It's this huge, gorgeous, proper chest of drawers that's in perfect condition. I'm genuinely a little worried to have such a nice thing in this house. The end table is a little more marked up and can go in Torfinn's room. I can't even imagine how to navigate the COD up our very narrow staircase, so it's going in the downstairs guest room. I'm very happy to have a place to put his stuff, and it'll stay in good shape down here... I hope.
One step closer to not having piles of clothes everywhere!

Not sure if the picture will work or not, but I went through the last two boxes of clothes last night. All the orange bags are going out for donation on Wednesday, plus the stuff in the green bin.

today's cleaning spree was our bedroom closet and the coat closet, which would've been more satisfying but husband apparently has a "system" for his clothes so i didn't mess with them much besides picking up things from the floor and putting it in the hamper. Most of it was trash, and i found more things that belong to my best friend and more things to donate, which is a little annoying since i took a load of donations today already.

Yesterday I cleaned out an entire 6 foot stuffed bookcase down to three shoeboxes of books. Dozens of text books recycled, plus a big box of books picked up from a woman who runs a little free library in town. Also dropped off our expired meds to the police department who was running the recycling program yesterday (we missed the hazardous waste days for the month, which means I'm stuck with the paint for another week).
Thankfully I've been able to sell some of the big items taking up space - foosball table was picked up yesterday and keyboard /stand/accessories are being picked up this morning. Along with selling some other smaller items, I should have enough profit to buy a pretty decent toolbox to surprise my husband with! His tools are everywhere right now, so it's waaay needed.
I was able to clean out about 4 or 5 large boxes (one as tall as me) yesterday too and threw out a ton of stuff, so much that my weekly trash is already FULL until Wednesday. I am so determined to have the garage clean and tidy by the end of the week. Oh, and I found the fucking Halloween decorations!

I was without internet all day yesterday, so I got a TON of things done, including taking down the busted shelves in my garage and putting together the new set. Before (notice the top shelf with paint cans actually hanging away from the wall!): After, with new tool box also assembled: Today I'm going to be working on organizing the stuff back onto the shelves

Went through my closet last night, and made a pile of clothes to drop off to sell. Wahtever the store won't buy i'll donate to a shelter.
Tonight I am going to go through my dresser, and finally throw away all the undies that are too small for me.

I also went through all my clothes last night! I have a massive bin bag of clothes to take to the Goodwill, also threw out a load of underwear. I had so many pairs of knickers that I'd either gotten too fat for or were just super uncomfortable and I'd never gotten around to throwing them out. A lot of the stuff I'm donating is cheap Walmart clothes and I really need to stop buying cheap stuff and just spending a little more on decent clothes. Aside from my Walmart leggings which I will love forever and buy every chance I get. I'm going to try to just gradually switch my wardrobe over to higher quality basics.
Also moved my "active heap" of clothes from the top of the tumble dryer and actually put it in the chest of drawers that I cleared out. I got into the habit of doing a load of laundry, folding it on top of the dryer and then just taking clothes from it as needed cos I'm lazy.
Now I just have to get my husband to help me clean out our room cos it's full of his garbage.

I’m about to do another purge round of clothes at my house. I need to finish setting up my craft room/office area. I’ve been putting it off for far too long. A lot of it has been packed up for two years now

This weekend I’m going to set aside some time Saturday to clear off my bed. I have a queen and only sleep on half of it so I shove stuff on the other side and it gets cluttered up fast. Then I want to go through my nail polish and see what I want to get rid of/trash/donate.

I just went through six tubs of clothing, shoes, hats, carriers, blankets, swaddling cloths and sleep sacks, coats, sweaters, and snow suits from my kid's first two years of life and got everything pared down to one tub's worth. ONE TUB OF BABY CLOTHES AND SUPPLIES. I'm proud of myself. I need to save stuff in case kid #2 ever gets his shit together to get born but I can't hang on to six tubs' worth. We won't have space in the house, which is exactly why I find the idea of buying an 800 sq. ft. house so fucking appealing.

I finally made time to sort through my clothes and inspired my husband to do the same thing. We ended up tossing a few especially ratty things, but have three packed trash bags of stuff to donate. I still need to organize what's left, but it's really nice to look in my closet and know that I like everything in there and it all fits.

That's an awesome initiative! I think Goodwill will schedule pickups here, but there's another thrift store here that I prefer and I can use the drop-off as an excuse to shop.

My goal for this weekend is to unfuck my bedroom. It tends to be the catch-all room when I clean the other rooms of the house so it's become a complete disaster. I have nice desk that I got for writing at but I can't even get to it due to all the crap in the way! I'll be swiping a bunch of huge garbage bags from work to make the unfuckening that much easier, and my kid will be helping me lug each full bag down to the basement so we can put it out on garbage day next week.
