Nice! They look awesome! I've had mine for years now, and I still often turn the plugs backwards when I sleep, because the pressure can make them achy if I have them frontways. When mine were brand new, I found nothing helped that throbby-achiness like a good, warm salt soak. I didn't do them often, but they just helped SO much. Honestly. now I'm so jealous mine are only 6g lol. I should've gone bigger! Thankyou! ^-^ yeah i haven't slept on them yet and have been using the neck pillow (obviously), but i can imagine a chunk of glass against your head being uncomfortable i haven't done salt soaks yet cause they're still pretty raw and i don't want to irritate them, i've been cleaning them of course just with the saline solution and the sterile cotton buds. You could always get them punched bigger! ^-^ expect bleeding, especially the first day the swelling goes down. it's probably just seeping out right now, not enough for you to actually notice when. Ok that makes sense, i have prepared for bleeding it's just not happening yet is all (except like i said in tiny amounts). I'll keep that in mind tho, I've been wearing black/dark colours every day and carrying around some of that, what would you call it, bandage i guess? Sterile fabric tissue stuff for cleaning any blood up, and bought another pillow along with the neck pillow that can be bled on too, just in case

K so I'm about to sleep and my right ear is doing...something? It hurts, but it also feels like its doing something, like its swelling? Or maybe the swelling is going down? Idk, I'm super aware of it all of a sudden and can't just ignore it. Which sucks, cause it hurts.

Idk, I'm super aware of it all of a sudden and can't just ignore it. Which sucks, cause it hurts. it probably moved .000001" & pulled the tiiiiiniest bit of scab into the wound. soak it if you can; it'll probably bleed if you do, but that may also relieve the pressure.

(This is a bit gross) Ooook so, slightly (very) concerned now. I just woke up, cleaned my ears, about to do a sea salt soak (never did one last night because I fell asleep pretty soon after posting that). My ear still feels like its a bit swollen or something (though it doesn't look it, and its less than it Was after cleaning them), but while I was cleaning them there was a lot of crusties. Not like healing ones either, they where yellow and weren't fully, well, crusty. Also the q-tip went a bit yellow. The front of my ear looks fine but I can't see the back, and i dont really want anyone pulling my ear around to look (for obvious reasons)
Kinda freaking out now, I realise this might just be a normal part of healing but I've never experienced this with any of my other piercings, or maybe i just didnt notice cause they where smaller gauge? I love them so much I really don't want anything going wrong. My bedding was freshly cleaned after getting them done, I haven't been touching them obv, even when i clean them I just use the q-tip. Been cleaning them every day, kept shampoo/conditioner/soap well away, kept my hair out of them. Idk what I've done wrong and I'm kinda concerned.
Sorry if I'm freaking out over nothing
Update: I did the sea salt soak, my ear(s) feel way better, sorry for freaking out it's just i really love these and dont want anything going wrong. I'm sure it's prob just my body freaking out because there's a lump of glass in it, maybe it's still a bit sore from when my bf knocked it a bit. Either way, feels a lot better now.

Depending on your skin ton, yellowish, isn't a bad thing... did it smell? What was the texture of the wet bits?
When I had my punches done I had tons of golden tinted cruelties and the discharge from my piercings has always been white to whitefish with slight yellow tinge.

Yeah that's pretty much what I had, goldenish yellow is a good way to describe it. Didnt smell, they where kinda sticky I guess? (Ew) but i think that's cause they just hadn't dried and fully become crusties yet. Yeah Im sure its fine, I'm a bit of a worry pot and it doesn't help that id just woken up X) sorry about all that

They look awesome! Ugh they make me extra mad I didn't get mine at 8mm. >< So jelly.
I wouldn't worry about the crusties. Soaks always help. I've heard before that when using q-tips to clean, it's possible for little threads from the cotton to get stuck in the hole and cause irritation, so maybe that's part of it? You can use paper towels to avoid that issue. Still, no big deal. Sometimes you just gotta let crusties be crusties.

I look forward to salt soaks now, they help so much I cringe for 14 y/o me who thought the way to heal piercings was surgical spirit. The q-tip thing makes sense I'll be extra careful, though honestly the main issue I'm having is people forgetting when they hug me and stuff, I'm getting used to going EARS when mum comes up to me cause she grabs my face a lot x) I'm not worried about the crusties anymore though, honestly I freaked out a bit because they're not the colour I usually get, and it was early in the morning so.
Also thank you both, I would definitely recommend I love them so much ^-^ ~

Just a little update, the jewellery moves now which makes me think the swelling is going down? I'm not moving it myself obv but like sometimes it'll shift in my sleep or when i do the salt soaks they become really loose. My right ear is doing amazing, again I'm not moving it myself but when it moves itself forward i can see that the edges look fine, and its just been a bit crusty. My left is being a bit difficult tho. I dont know how it happened, but a couple of days ago I noticed a little cut at the side of my ear (like where a snug piercing would be). So I've kept the jewellery forward a little to keep it off the cut, left any scabs alone in that area and not using cotton buds on it - just letting the salt soaks deal with it. However, it's been getting continuously worse. This is how it looks rn - (I'll make it an actual pic when I can get to my computer sorry) So the cut goes from where a snug would be all the way up to where my rook used to be. As you can see there's a bunch of the clear yellow fluid stuff that turns into crust, which I can't really clean off because it's attached to scabs and the few times I've tried to clean it, it just bleeds loads. I've been waking up most mornings with a lump of crusties and blood right by my anti tragus (which I assume is from it dripping down or whatever at night?) and sea salt soaks sting. Not sure what this is or what I should be doing to help if anything other than salt soaks. I did used to have a rook piercing which I took out just before I got this done so maybe that's something to do with it idk (that had been fully healed for a few years). Any advice would be appreciated, atm I'm just keeping the o ring off it, I use saline solution in the mornings (no time/too sleepy to do salt soaks) and a salt soak in the evening, I've been doing this pretty consistently before this happened as well.

Quick little update, everything is going great, still crusty but a lot less. My left ear no longer has a big cut (or whatever that was) on it, but I do think there's a piercing bump around where my rook is. It's not visable or anything, but I can feel the bump when I'm cleaning. Not worried though, just gonna leave it be and let it do its thing. Also! I can kinda lay on normal pillows now! I haven't been sleeping on normal pillows because I don't wanna risk doing it for long periods of time, but if I'm just laying down for a min normal pillows are fine, yay! im beginning to get pretty sick of the neck pillow, of course it's better than the alternative but I miss my normal pillows and it can take a lot of adjusting before the neck pillow is comfortable. Yay progress!

Bump? How is your healing going?
I've been waffling on conch punches for a couple years now. I think I'm going to go with paired piercings for now and maybe in the future if I'm not satisfied with that, I'll just go ahead and get them punched. The relative permanency of it and the fact that it would be my heaviest mod makes me want to REALLY make sure I want them before I do anything drastic. Reading things like this online with lots of detail about what to expect helps a lot with my decision!

Reading things like this online with lots of detail about what to expect helps a lot with my decision! It's going good! I do take a while to heal to be fair, always have, so I'd take this with a pinch of salt. Progress is slow, still crusty, still flair up on occasion, but slowly but surely I am improving. The right ear is still a bit swollen and red but mostly ok, still doing see salt soaks every day so. Still have a piercing bump around the edges of both but that's ok. I am getting sick of my pillow and being self conscious about having my hair up but it'll be worth it in the end ^-^ Yeah I think that's a good idea, I had a conch piercing before my punches, loving that is what drove me to get these. I'm glad to be of help! ^-^
